Gary is making the call to SCRATCH Sable today.. He didn't like the way she warmed up this morning.. Only vanned in yesterday and wants to give her a few days to acclimate..

Didn't get a chance to note how well Ausable is doing since coming north, as the big filly had a rather clever work Sunday that went under the radar. Recorded as a :51 half mile on the torpid main track, she actually was working 3f and did that portion in what would have been a near bullet :36.50. Gary expects a N2L sprint on the main (or turf) to show up as an extra race for her over the next 2 weeks..

News from racing office this afternoon of at least one coming out of this race, so Ausable will draw in to Sunday's race and run.

Not everyone can say they had a horse run at Saratoga... that is pretty special (and she had won there before, right?) so keep positive. Today wasn't her day but I hope the next one is and that the wait will make her win even that much more splendid.

Ausable was legitimately tired Monday from Sunday's race and should really benefit from the effort after having not run in nearly 2 months. Thought she ran OK against a very good group that saw the winner get a 71 Beyer. Expect she'll run back pretty quickly with $15k/N2L's (6f) available as soon as Saturday (9/8) or 2 weeks later (9/22).
