It was amazing to see the fire leap residential structures that had done good fire mitigation practices. If that didn't show a homeowner what you need to be careless about, to draw fire into every chance of burning down your home, I don't know how to convince them to protect themselves and their property.

The homes I see on my rides in the foothills are all in violation, they want the convenience of "city living" with the seclusion of being surrounded by trees so they keep the trees right on their houses.
It is a recipe for disaster since every year something catches on fire.
