Regal Ron

Congrats to the connections of Regal Ron, a 3yo son of Lawyer Ron, who broke his maiden today at Monmouth in a $40,000 maiden special weight. I root for LR's babies when I spot them and took an interest in this one because one of his owners called in to ATR several months ago to talk to Steve, and the fact that he had a Lawyer Ron colt came up. I wanted to be supportive of a fellow ATR fan (and for all I know he may post here) so I put the colt in my stable mail. He was an April 20 foal so losing his first try against horses like Good Morning Diva and Morgan's Guerrilla back in Feb. is hardly something to be ashamed of. This was only his 2nd race, and I'm sure he's just getting started.

Regal Ron did it in 1:11.99 for 6f under Angel Serpa for owners Stuart Sackowitz and David Gherman and trainer Jane Cibelli. Nice job and good luck in the future.

Wow, 2 races later his jockey gets a severe concussion. Serpa had two winners today, then his filly ducks into the rail while on the lead. He was supposed to ride Wildcat Creek in the Jersey Shore tomorrow, but who knows what's up with that now.
