The other SCOTUS ruling...

Supreme Court Upholds Right to Lie About Military Honors.

May be dispictable but legal...free speech and all ya know...

I think that ruling stinks! Just because we have the freedom of speech, doesn't mean they're are not consquences for the things we choose to go around and say! For example you cannot walk into a crowded theatre and yell FIRE when there's no damn fire without getting in deep sh*t! Nor should we be able to go around telling people we were a decorated millitary officer, a lie is a LIE! It's a SLAP in the face to all of our brave men and women who are proudly serving, and the ones who have paid the ultimate price! The ruling is disgusting, in my opinion!

they had no choice. sometimes rulings can be unpalatable, but they must always be correct. in this case, it's a moral issue rather than a legal one. is lying wrong? of course.
besides, pols don't want any laws against lying-i'm surprised anyone attempted this legislation at all. matter of fact, there's a guy here in arkansas running for office who has been caught lying about his military service.
claims he was special forces, but he never passed the training.
