Colbert selects Olympic dressage as his "Sport of the Summer"

Not technically racing but it's horse related. Ann Romney's horse Rafalca qualified for the US Olympic team in the area of dressage. Stephen Colbert's decided that, much like he did with US speed skating in 2010, he'll be fixated on and offer support to our dressage team during the Olympics so look for that this summer.

Actually, he made a big announcement about it tonight. Not sure what was different from the Jun 13th clip as I didn't see it, but he acted like this was a response to the spoof by the equestrian team after that first segment. The only reason I care that Ann Romney's involved is that that's what got Stephen's attention in the first place.

You just know those equine body suits will make the reel. If it's anything like the speed skating team, Colbert will be offering some level of sponsorship. Horse sports getting more coverage on tv helps all of us I'd say. Okay maybe not all coverage. I had to mute an hour of TVG that got picked up by my cable company last week. Pretty sure whatshisname was trying to be funny. Best not to count on that to bring in the new fans.
