Not that Gov Fatso is willing to challenge Feds on the sports betting issue but that racetracks are suddenly included in the equation after he had adamantly stated that he wanted racing NOT to benefit from sports betting earlier.

"We intend to go forward,” the Republican governor said. “If someone wants to stop us, then let them try to stop us. We want to work with the casinos and horse racing industry to get it implemented.

I think he is only doing this because Atlantic City is so isolated and has such a dangerous reputation. With tracks he is covering north and central Jersey too. I doubt he has any interest in the racing.

He may not but it is ironic how he suddenly wants to "work with" the horse racing industry when it suits him. Of course it can't help but benefit horseracing in some fashion to be included unless of course federal indictments come down for those who participate in breaking federal laws.

I agree it can only help racing. There are many more people in the New York metro area that can sneak over to the Meadowlands to put in a few wagers than can make it all the way to ACity.
