Rough situation for one of the country's most storied newspapers as the New Orleans Times-Picayune fights for survival.

Editor Jim Amoss is Tom's brother..

This is a sad day. Unfortunately, it is a path that other newspapers are likely to follow. It is hard to believe that barely more than three decades ago the NOLA area supported an afternoon daily (the States-Item) as well.
