Memorial Day

Who are the likely runners in the various stakes races at Belmont on Memorial Day? When will they draw?

If you go to the NYRA website and look on the left hand side of the Home page you will see a link to the Stakes Nominations. Click there to see who has signed up. Stakes PP's are also available. Not positive about the draw date but I would think it is no later than Wednesday.

The Memorial Day card will be drawn on Friday.

If you're ever looking for that info, click on the Condition Book, which is under the Horsemen section on the left of the NYRA homepage. Click the proper date range and find the day you're seeking.

I have always thought that his 'reputation' is what got him took down in that race. From the head-on shot I thought that Wild Again came out rather than Gate Dancer coming in. Slew O'Gold got pinched for sure but it wasn't caused by Gate Dancer. He was probably the first 'big' horse I ever saw in person and had the ties to Omaha, Ak-Sar-Ben and Jack Van Berg that I grew up with. His Preakness win is still pretty cool to watch. I also think Alysheba is right up there in my Top 10 of favorite horses.
