4/28 DERBY/OAKS DAWN PATROL: Worker flurry expected rain holding off..

Expecting a slew of works after the harrow break with rain looking like it will hold off...

Union Rags, Went the Day Well, Dullahan among those likely. Stay tuned.

From Palm Meadows, Dave Grening reports that Pletcher will wait until tomorrow to work EL PADRINO and GEMOLOGIST with thunderstorms in Boynton Beach. IN LINGERIE and BROADWAY'S ALIBI will work in anticipation of their Kentucky Oaks assignments for which the former is probable and the latter possible..

Very interested to hear your take. Several observers gushing about Union Rags looking the part and going fast and willingly, but a few others concerned about front wraps.

Steve:

In South Florida, it looks like rain overnight is probable into tomorrow morning.

I see Done Talking earned the bullet this morning at LRL. If anybody sees video or other analysis of the move, I'd be interested.

UNION RAGS looked very sharp. Impossible to find any criticism of how he worked. The wraps are most likely just Matz taking every precaution against him running down.

Sounds like Baffert is going old school. Worked harder since his last race than those off 5 weeks. Didn't someone just say on Steve's show that the fittest horse usually wins the Derby and Baffert making sure Bode wins that prize. Sure not coddling him. Maybe that is how you beat the 2 year old jinx. Was tossing Bode on the bounce but now reconsidering.
