Love that the x-rays are "tweeted" to the world as proof...

Bernardini is going to be spanking some more ass!

Danzig 04-23-2012 02:08 PM

too bad, but at least we'll be spared more 'apple blossom' moments.

It was all that weight she almost had to carry.

That guy at Oaklawn should lose his job over this.

Was Larry Jones riding her in that workout?

Tough crowd. Damned either way.

I appreciate the way some connections reach out to their fans and bend over backwards to keep them informed, to go so far as to post silly bath time videos etc., when really... no one is owed anything.

Happy retirement to her.

Perhaps people are resentful because of the nonsense he just pulled with HDG and the Apple Blossom weight non issue.

i think part of it depends on the people involved. some are just a-holes. dying horses stupid colors, making up bs about why a horse can't run, bad attitudes...
we all like the horses-some of the owners/trainers...not so much.

I understand that Charlie but Jesus Christ it gets boring at times.

Pretty sure you know of what I speak here...:)

If they'd come out and said, "she's not training as well as we'd like" or whatever before the AB, I think there wouldn't be as much mockery, but because they displayed such poor sportsmanship in whining that it was all about the (more than fair) weight assignment it's hard to feel much sympathy for the connections now. And, at least to me, releasing the vet report smacks of trying too hard- "really guys, we're not making it up this time!" I mean, c'mon; no one demanded to see Invasor's vet report.

Obviously, everyone wishes the horse well. And I really enjoyed her 2011 campaign and, as a fan, thank them for that.

Now There's An Article Saying She's For Sale

Sports were so much better before athletes had blogs and especially before people started creating blogs for horses. We don't need photos of Kobe Bryant taking a bath so why should we need them of a horse taking one?

...because it's fun.

It adds another dimension, makes racing more user-friendly.

Racing needs bettors but it also needs fans and the people in between.

Enthusiasm.

I think it's a good thing, Kingie.

I know you know what some people here don't and that is that the fans DO play, that they DO bet, that they're the ones trying to bring more people in and get people excited... not the guys who - when they do actually go to the track - claim their spot inside, spread out the form, their laptop, whatever else and spend the day by themselves in a crowded place.

That's a shame. I'll miss her running. The vet report shows how one tiny, little ligament can end a career. Considering the mare wasn't lame, glad they caught it right away.

Wonder what he'll take for her?
