One of the Paragallo rescues gets to the track

Nice heartwarming story.

With all the things that went wrong, I still can't believe one of the three rescues is actually going to start. Angelika and Sean wouldn't give up. Looking forward to seeing the race Sunday. I don't care if she runs dead last; the fact that they got a horse left to starve to the races at all is a victory.

That is a really nice story. Thanks for putting it here -- I don't visit the NYT website that much and would've missed it. Will definitely watch to see her run.

I went with them the day they saw the yearlings (we drove to Saratoga to see Rachel's Woodward and stopped up on the way) and took some snapshots. If I can find them in my hard drive later today, I'll post a few of what she looked like back then.

positive NY times coverage

This is a great story about our (I am a minor partner) horse, this is really something and I thought I would share. Please consider rooting for our filly Sunday!

I am a partner in 5R and never imagined we would get here. Sunday will be something special.

Me too- will you be there Sunday?

What a terrific story. Good luck, and safe travel, to all of you! And especially to Notinrwildestdremz. What a terrific name :-)

Consider it done. In fact, I've already commenced said rooting. Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to get her there and good luck to Notinrwildestdremz!

I'm rooting for everyone involved!
Just the fact that this filly made into the starting gate is just a tremendous story, Angelika and Sean have been steadfast.
I'll be watching and cheering for Notinrwildestdremz from home, wish I could be there. Have fun and Good Luck!!!

Sadly (sort of) we cannot go, had a trip to vegas planned for months. We will be watching at Wynn though!

Nothing sad about a trip to Vegas!

Well, with any luck, it won't be her only race, so there's always the next one for in-person spectating.

Same with me. :) It's amazing. Wish I could be there!

Here's a video 5R put together of "Dremz." The beginning includes a few snapshots of her as a yearling, so you can see how far she had to come.

That video was great - and I had to watch all her others, too! Thanks! What a great story.

She's a little pistol of slightly stubborn opinion, isn't she - sure has her own mind! :D Good luck tomorrow and safe trip!

dagolfer33 04-22-2012 12:33 PM

Tough luck today:(

Merlinsky 04-22-2012 01:29 PM

Bless her heart. I don't even like walking in the mud, never mind running. I don't blame her one bit.

I was looking at pictures of Notinrwildestdremz' first day on the track. She's cute as a button. How tall is she?

GenuineRisk 04-22-2012 04:40 PM

Eh, that's racing. Clearly Clip-Clop is supposed to be at her first race. :)

Next time at Belmont. And hopefully on a dry track!
