He was the Kim Jong-il of entertainment a-holes. Now his son, Seacrest-un takes over.

I'm wondering if today's setback will make it even harder to understand Dear (Entertainment) Leader on next year's broadcast of the gala festivities
on New Year's Eve.

His epitaph should be "He had a good beat and the kids could dance to it." Seems like that's what every teenager that he held a mike in front of on AB said when he would ask them what they thought of a new record.

I once had the job of auditing his NY State income tax filings around 20 years ago. I worked with his accountant, of course, by mail, with the issue being proper allocation of his NY source income when he worked his "New Year's Rocking Eve" gigs in NY (he lived in CA at the time). I remember that his accountant kept meticulous records, and Mr. Clark received a "no change" on his taxes (the equivalent of a gold star, I guess).

RIP.

I honestly think he's been dead for like 10 years already. They just never told the public and wheeled him out every New Year's Eve (that's the only time you ever saw him). Now that they found a suitable replacement, they decided to let the cat out of the bag.....................

RIP Mr. Clark. Many a Saturday growing up American Bandstand was a show I wouldn't miss. Pyramid was a pretty good gameshow too, and always remember he and Ed McMahon with Bloopers, and Practical Jokes. The man was behind a ton of entertaining tv moments for this viewer, and I thank him for that.
