Permission granted by the HKJC for the following jocks to go to Dubai...

Jeff Lloyd (Xtension who might very well avoid AD and go to the DWC. Hooray!) *
Matthew Chadwick(California Memory)
Olivier Doleuze (Eagle Regiment)
Gerald Mosse (non HK runner - can't remnember the name... something Bliss?)
Brett Prebble (Lucky Nine)
Doug Whyte (Ambitious Dragon)

edit - Scratch that.

The world is about to get much more acquainted with Ambitious Dragon. That horse can run.

In fact, I may be so bold as to say the Hong Kong contingent could make up 2-3 parts of the superfecta. Xtension is a really nice horse and is just unlucky to be running at the same time as Ambitious Dragon. If he is able to use a potential pace advantage, he'll be dangerous.

I watched some of his replays last night. Pretty impressive, to say the least.

best of luck to chantal, who will become the first female jock to ride in the dwc. that ought to set tongues wagging.

That is awesome that the HOY met with your approval! :D

Thought I listed this here... guess not.

Runners from Japan...

Transcend - DWC
Eishin Flash - DWC
Smart Falcon - DWC
A Shin Virgo - Al Quoz Sprint
Dark Shadow - Dubai Duty Free
Genten - UAE Derby
Makani Bisty - Dubai Gold Cup

When all is said and done and much as I like Smart Falcon a, A Shin Virgo is one who might get lost in it all and she is one to keep an eye on.

I thought Planteur was a done deal (?).

Well, he's in.

All of the HK horses heading over are fantastic runners so yes, agree. :)

Some Dubai odds available here:

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-rac...st-racing/flat

More to be up as the week progresses Im sure. The one Im very interested in is Cityscape in the Duty Free (Im hoping he goes off a ridiculous price on the international tote). I was slightly disappointed Ambitious Dragon was only 5-1 as if he was higher I would have had a bet - he has the quality and fitness over the others.

Are you concerned at all with Cityscape seeming to prefer a bit of give in the ground?

I thought the Hong Kong race he ran in was one of the weaker of their slate of big events and am still not sure how Able One held. I guess I just don't envision Ambitious Dragon being beaten.

Hopefully she'll continue to be overlooked.

Nick, I'd be inclined to think that this thing that Cityscape prefers soft ground isn't true and he has run his best races on decent ground.

Plus while I agree with you that the HK Mile wasn't a brilliant race, I thought Cityscape ran a belter from the position he was in without any cover and let's say 5 wide.

If the increase in trip brings out a bit more improvement (and he is a lightly raced 6yo) he can be in the shake up!!
