There is a La. Bred named Cajun Charlie that shipped to Tampa last week for the Derby. He's by Afternoon Delites and is our best La Bred 3yo going 2 turns. Im very curious to see how he matches up with that group pointed for the race.

Have the chart here of his easy Premier Night win.. Interesting.

The card draws today.

Thankfully Tampa moved the entry dates forward one day from their traditional draw (Thurs for Sat, Fri for Sun, etc...) with their latest conditon book. 24 more hours to bang our head against the wall is appreciated.

It's tough to say how he'll stack-up. The horses he'll face at Tampa figure to be much tougher. Plus his last two his wins were on easy leads at Delta.

Zip Motion, whom he beat last time, is a mid-70's state-bred allowance horse. Freddie One Bite's, whom he's beat twice in a row, has a career best Beyer of 70. The horse he lost to for Mouton, Balidor Desol, has been unable to run back to that 76 figure at LAD this summer.

I'm sort of surprised to see Brian House ship there.

Just saw it confirmed on Twitter Dougie,

Pat Byrne tellls @HRTV that he will scratch Take Charge Indy from Tampa Bay Derby because of outside post and will head to Fla Derby instead

he's scared off by this group, and would rather face Alpha and Union Rags in 2 weeks? :zz:

Dahoss 03-09-2012 02:06 PM

Byrne probably heard the mush liked him.

Exactly what I was thinking... If he can't compete with this group due to post position, what the hell makes him think he has a prayer in the FL Derby?

tjfla 03-09-2012 02:12 PM

WOW so Byrne has now missed 2 chances to get easy graded earnings to run vs Alpha,Union Rags,Reveron and???

Kasept 03-11-2012 08:04 AM

Prospective 88

tector 03-11-2012 02:29 PM

Byrne is either very confident or something is wrong with the horse right now. Odds?

Maybe the horse has issues, and thats possible at this point. But to mention Reveron?? Please stop. Alpha SUCKS. If Take Charge Indy is OK, he would be the clear cut second best horse in the race. I think he could beat Union Rags.
