Baffert's winning streak

16 of his last 17 starters including his last 11 in a row. There hasn't been a streak like this since Frank Passero was painting horse's genitals with Cayenne Pepper at Gulfstream in 1996.

The Factor is one awesome animal.

He's rolling like the Crimson Tide ... what he's doing in So. Cal isn't much different than what Pletcher and Ness have been doing at two different tracks in Florida.

To make matters worse -- Baffert is now dropping horses for what I can only assume is to open up stalls for new horses.

The horse he won with in the 4th today romped in an open 25K claimer last out earning a Beyer of 87. He stuffed that horse in for 10K right back. No horse in the field had run anything better than a 75 recently. It was a monumental mis-match on paper and the horse won in a complete trot.

I wonder if anyone knows how many claims were in on that horse?

The Factor got his much needed paceless setup. And coupled with the Malibu a couple months ago, the talk of monsterhood is in full swing once again. Outside CA, where actual complete fields assemble, he'll go back to also-running.

Sway Away is the only Met Mile contender out of today's San Carlos.

As for the streak, barring a scratch, it will come to an end tomorrow at Santa Anita. Bob Baffert has 2 entered in the first.

Of course, there could be a dead-heat I suppose.

I can't recall anything like it.

Passero won 14 consecutive races at Gulfstream in 1996.

He's the best trainer ever. I expect this from him.

You're the best poster ever. I expect that from you.
