Pal's latest workout; 2/18 start

Steve - Thought Pal was going to get 60 days rest? Any add'l info you can share about his future plans? (e.g. Will he keep working? Will he be entered to race again soon? Any further thoughts on gelding him? Etc.) This latest work is certainly encouraging! Many thanks, Rick

Doing very good but biding time till we get within range of turf. Might make start or two as that approaches.

Hi Steve,

Apologize if you've discussed this already elsewhere. What's the chance our boy will be appealing to someone for that 50k tag? Slim and none?

Thanks for everything.

Deep down I would be disappointed if he got claimed (which I don't think is even a remote possibility), but in this game, if someone hands you money, you don't give it back.

smootsirvin 02-16-2012 01:11 PM

Oh, I completely understand.

You know, the great thing about DeeTee is that it gives fans like my wife and me a chance to interact with the real "players" in the "game," such as yourself.

You have to know where to separate-out emotion from your business. Even a $2 bettor knows you have to use your brain, not your heart, or you'll soon be OUT of business.

Thanks for responding.

Let's get Pal to break his maiden on Saturday and then we'll run in allowance races for a bit and it's all truly academic.

BTW, I noticed this is open company. That's a change, too.

Dan,

Not sure why it said 'Open' in the Entries, as it is a NYB event...

smootsirvin 02-16-2012 01:31 PM

Oh, Okay. Thanks.

Dubai. Still think he'll be OK without his nuts and in turf sprints. Not giving up on him yet.

Cuse Fan 02-20-2012 05:38 PM

Maybe we should nickname him "Mounds". ("Almond Joy has nuts, Mounds don't...")

1. Is he definitely going to be gelded? If so, when? (Newbie question: How long is a horse out of action for after being gelded?)

2. How did he come out of Saturday's race? Any feedback from the jock/Gary?
