USC and Bush/cheaters if there ever were any

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?s...yhoo&type=lgns

I knew it and said last year that he and Leinhart were being paid. Hope they strip the title they won.

oracle80 09-14-2006 08:24 PM

Cheating filth on the field and off the field.
How about that "genius" Pete carroll and the great program he runs huh?
You telling me he had no idea the kid was living in a mansion last year? Are you ****ing serious?

dalakhani 09-14-2006 09:24 PM

If they started witch hunting and wanted to strip titles away for violations in NCAA sports, there probably would be few banners left over the last forty years.

Are we going to go back strip UCLA of all of the titles Wooden won while he was there?

Are we going to strip the Canes of all of those titles?

How about Notre Dame? Are we going to strip them of the title they won during the Holtz years?

The list goes on and on. This is nothing new.

it's funny the Redskins stadium hold 91k
they have led the league in attendance the past 6 seasons
well, I can name 6 college stadiums bigger than that
Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama
the rest of the league doesn't come close to that compasity
but...20 college stadiums hold 80K or more
and another 8 hold 70K or better
I think the college kids should get paid
they're getting a scholarship, but making the schools a ton of money
and they're getting paid anyway, at least the Bush's are
but it is the NCAA rules, and they have been obviously violated
so SC must be given probation and Petie should be fired
and be forced to go back to the jets~after a good tar and feathering

The potential problem for USC goes beyond the trail of money to Bush. The Trojan program could be found by the NCAA to have failed to exert proper institutional control.

Sources told Yahoo! Sports that representatives of New Era were allowed into the USC locker room during the 2005 season. Ornstein and other agents frequented the USC sidelines during several games and numerous practices that season, according to published reports.

These are the key issues with USC. If they knew what was going on, and did nothing about it... Otherwise, colleges are going to have a very difficult time exterting "institutional control" over athletes that secretively get agents way ahead. Colleges would need private investigators. The colleges have a hard enough time keeping the alumnists away from the kids. Now when you have a coaching staff directly involved in the pathway of the money to the kids, you got a whole diff. problem. That is when the NCAA comes down hard.

The Washington Redskins, reguardless of the size of their stadium, is the most valuable pro sports frachise in this country. They can be bought coach if you have the money. You cant buy Penn State University. TV coach. Its huge for the pros. College, you gotta split revenue a bunch of different ways.
BTW. The value order I saw went something like this:
1. Washington Redskins
2. New York Giants
3. Dallas Cowboys
4. New York Yankees

Honestly who cares where Reggie Bush lived? If agents paid him I fail to understand USC's fault in the situation. The agents certainly were not working for or representing USC. Let the NCAA spend some of their money on taking care of the athletes who work so hard FOR NOTHING. Between TV deals and the NCAA tourney the NCAA is loaded. What should the schools do, hire Thomas Magnum to follow all 75 scholarship football players?

Wow! That is incredible. I can't belive the Heisman Trophy winner may have gotten some perks while he was in college. I'm sure that's never happened before. I'm sure that's not the norm. LOL.

oracle80 09-15-2006 06:36 AM

The reason that the filth were able to contend last year was because enough money was given to those guys to keep em there and extra year and not go pro.
Perks are one thing, giving a kid and his family that kinda dough is another. I'd really like to get a look at Leinhart's lifestyle last year as well. Kid passes up being number one in the draft to stick around because "hes enjoying campus life?" yeah, ok, sure.
The best part is that the filth still lost. And the title they did win is going bye bye. Oh, and Vince Young gets the Heisman he deserves when Bush is stripped.:)
See! There is justice in the world!!!
But please don't try and tell me that "the genius" Pete Carroll didn't know about all this.

BellamyRd. 09-15-2006 07:24 AM

Should Bush be forced to give his Heisman to Vince Young?
They made "Juice" liquidate his Heisman, and OJ deserved his!
I'd like to know what grade Leinart made in his lone class, Dancing 101
really you should have to be a full-time student to play (IMO)
he probably wanted to be on that show, "Dancing with the Stars"

I think Leinart is from a wealthy family. I believe they live down in Orange County or possibly Laguna.

Mike, if you were getting the kind of tang that Leinart was getting, you would have stayed also, I don't know a man that would pass up a different girl every night if he were single.

Leinart's family is loaded, his old man paid for his living expenses and had like five of the players live there with him, and pay rent(just another way around the system)

So now it's zero championships in the last 3 yrs for USC....give em the same death penalty they gave to SMU back in the 80's....

every kid in the world wants to go to USC....this might just change things.

EpBurns 09-15-2006 12:17 PM

Mike you know I just have to dig you on this one I played major college football and everyone is doing it,, sounds like sour grapes from a Notre Dame fan simple as that and please dont make me go into my tirade about Lou Hotz who cheated at every stop in his coaching career it started with Arkansas, ND, Minn. SC the only place he didnt cheat was William and Mary and the Jets because either they would'nt allow it or he didnt have to I bet he wished he was able to cheat when he was with the Jets because that team stunk!! I agree with one of my most admired coaches for my money Dr. Tom Osborne who throughout his time at Nebraska advocated paying the players some money so that everyone didnt have to cheat to keep up...... just one man's opinions but dont give me that Holier then thou crap from a Notre Dame fan.

post2post 09-15-2006 12:44 PM

they are being paid....free room and board...free tuition. they know the rules before accepting the damn schloarship.....be honest...most of these morons don't even attend class...ever...they are simply there to take their shot at the big time...

You can't take Oracle seriously on things like this. If he has it in for someone, he will bash them for things that he would never bash someone else for. For example, since he doesn't like Garret Gomez, he always bashes Gomez for his past problems with substance abuse, but I've never heard him bash Jerry Bailey or P Val for their past problems with substance abuse.

If a trainer that Oracle likes gets nailed with a drug positive, he'll come up with every excuse in the book. The funniest one was when he said that mepivicaine was for dental work and that's why the horse tested positive for it. When he realized that mepivicaine is not used for dental work then he said that even thought the horse was given the drug, the trainer must not have known about it. He tries to argue that guys like Todd Pletcher and Steve Asmussen are in the dark about what drugs their horses are getting, but he thinks that Pete Carrol knows if Reggie Bush gets a free room in Las vegas. These aren't exactly rational arguments.
