Klaravich and Rick Violette

Klaravich seems to have figured out how to succeed. In the first three days at Oaklawn, Cody Autrey has won with Deflationary Fears, Let's Get Fiscal, and Economic Swoon, all of whom were privately purchased from Klaravich and "king of the 2YO flame outs" Rick Violette.

Does Rick Violette still train for Klaravich? Seems like a bunch of different trainers have horses for them now.

He still has some. But also Chad Brown, Al Stall, Tom Amoss, recently Dale Romans added, Terri Pompay and one of the Preciados in Philly.

Teresa Pompay got a number of them after Currency Swap won the Hopeful. They were mostly low level stock.

The Klaravich operation kind of baffles me because they are willing to spend money, but seem to like doing it on horses by poor sires who work well at auction. Violette is great at having them ready to run early, but everyone knows it. The ones he has also never pan out. Ever.

I bet against an Autrey/Lucky Dog Stables horse in the last race Friday. Was telling a guy in our box it looked like he was trying to get rid of the horse and someone else in the box heard and said the horse might get claimed, but he was trying to win races and he would drop these horses he brought in from the Northeast circuit to spots they would win. New owner group he put together and he guaranteed them they would win at least 2 races opening weekend and might win them all (had 5 runners for the group and 4 winners). Unfortunately, I didn't make much off the info as these kind of leads seldom seem to work out for me....

When you buy !0 horses in the package deal for 90k, it gives you the freedom to be very aggressive in your placements of the horses. They all trained here at the Evangeline Training Center after being purchased and looked to be in pretty good shape.
