Yes I did and I had to hold my breath many times so I wouldn't burst into tears.

Did you?

Oh, yes. Ditto. It was a very violent movie.

It was distracting, to see all the different horses used. But one of the star horses, "Hey, there's Seabiscuit!" was pretty neat.

The jumping over the tank scene, and of course the barb-wire scene ... yuck.

The barbed wire scene was brutal. Not that it needs to be said again, but the horses' trainers do tremendous work with them. Horses, music, scenes all came together well, as one would expect from Spielberg. The movie deviates from the book in several aspects, and I'm not sure why, as the differences didn't improve the story in my opinion. I am glad I saw it, but I probably won't watch it again -- too much sadness, both human and equine, and that's what war is, and what the author of the book wanted to convey.

Sergeant Reckless: I love that story.
