Great piece from Marcus as always. Terry Wallace, 37 years was a wonderful run you have to respect that. Looks like Wallace will still have his selections up on the website, i wish him well with that and in his retirement, and thank him for his years of work at Oaklawn. Frank will be great, and that call that's linked in the article is a classic! Very funny and sweet as well, in his rembering of Luke, who he does a great impression of too. It was great to hear it again. Thanks for posting Steve.

Very best wishes for Mr. Miramahdi as he begins a new season at Oaklawn today. Terry has been a wonderful assest to the track and its mission but it's time to move on. I have enjoyed Terry's calls and radio shows and wish him the best in his new endevors. Good luck Mr. Miramahdi, there's no place like Oaklawn.

Obviously he's an improvement, but that said I still have to warm up to the guy. His impersonations today were not that funny.

For what it's worth.............TVG talked to Frank earlier on the card and he was going to keep just playing it straight but 'management' told him to go ahead and let loose. I've heard some of his 'impersonation' calls before and they're ok, but only ok. He seems very happy in Hot Springs and thus far is really pleased with the gig. He does a solid job overall I believe.

His regular calls are accurate, and that's good enough for me. If he's going to "let loose" well that's OK too, but maybe only on the last race of the day or something. I think he's a talented impersonator, but he tries to do too much. For me it would be better if he stuck with one impersonation for the whole race. Would love to hear him do a Terry Wallace for example.

My first thought watching the Smarty Jones was that thankfully it wasn't Wallace calling the race!

I truly enjoy Frank's calling of the action at Oaklawn. His impersonations aren't that bad either, however I also do impersonation's too but not on the job.;)

He does a good job.

I wish him all the best

Frank is passionate about the sport, and his enthusiasm for the game is infectious. His goal of accuracy could be picked up by a few of our more popular announcers today.

Zenyatta, Zenyatta, Zenyatta...yuck.

Good luck to a good guy.
