Ice Box will stand at $7,500 live foal.

Earlier they announced that Cactus Ridge is moving to Calumet, and he'll stand for a $5,000 stud fee. It's been eight years since they've had stallions. Glad to hear they're moving in this direction. I always root for Calumet homebreds out of nostalgia.

Love the write-up on Ice Box's retirement.

He won the Florida Derby and then was "wheeled right back" in the Kentucky Derby.

Yeah, what a tight squeeze. There's only 6 weeks between those two races.

Given his pedigree, it's too bad he didn't get a crack at a turf course somewhere along the way.

They're always messing with the Florida Derby schedule. The year Ice Box won there was 41 days in between the two. It was run on 3/20 and the Derby on 5/01.

This year, the Florida Derby is on 3/31.

Why couldn't Lezcano follow Super Saver up that golden rail?? He had to put on the brakes and then swing out 10 wide?? I had a sizable future bet that was made before the Florida Derby. It would have been a big party at Wynn that night. Uuuughh!!!

He's done enough. Well, actually, he hasn't done near enough. He did cost me $27000 pk4 not showing up for the Belmont.
