At least he has absolved himself of any blame since, you know, he has "serious reservations with certain provisions."

yeah, it certainly makes the bitter pill easier to swallow. congress shouldn't have put this bill together, he shouldn't have signed it. every signee should be voted out, asap. i guess when he said change, voters thought he meant a good change. oops.

I guess his re-election strategy will be that he isn't as bad as the other side.

based on this move, i don't know that he could actually win that argument. what good is being smarter than bush, if you act just like him?

The time to get upset about this stuff is in the months prior to the signing, while Congress is adding their horrible little nasties to it. Not after it's all done.

At least the President eliminated much of the warmongering aggressiveness and attempts to incite trouble with Iran put in by the GOP (reference the Iran financial sanctions) Nice to see you guys give him credit for that. Oh, wait ... you aren't.

Not to mention the following:

Quote:

Among the changes the administration secured was striking a provision that would have eliminated executive branch authority to use civilian courts for trying terrorism cases against foreign nationals.

The administration also pushed Congress to change a provision that would have denied U.S. citizens suspected of terrorism the right to trial and could have subjected them to indefinite detention. Lawmakers eventually dropped the military custody requirement for U.S. citizens or lawful U.S. residents.
The President eliminated the indefinite military detention and denial of right to trial the GOP placed up you and your fellow citizens. You're welcome.

Yea because Iran is so misunderstood. Maybe we can throw them a couple of billion and be friends. :zz:

What in the world are you talking about? This had nothing to do with giving Iran any money.

Cannon Shell 01-01-2012 02:52 PM

Only the shilliest of shills would believe that "we" are inciting trouble with Iran.

Yeah. That whole recent Strait of Hormuz thing, based upon the threat of the sanctions placed in the defense bill, was just imaginary. Of course, it's our manifest destiny to control the actions of other international banks around the world, after all, we are the USA!

Do any of you actually ever read the news or pay attention to what's happening in Washington? Where have you rocket scientists been for the past six months, while all this was being discussed and added to the bill?

Naw. That takes brains. It's too hard to discuss what was actually placed into, then taken out of, the bill. Easier to just call other posters names. That doesn't take any brains at all.

I think we may end up giving Iran something, unless Israel gives it to them first, but it won't be money.

Riot talks about brains. Hahahahahahahahahaha

Despite my apparant lack of brains I dare to doubt the typical drivel coming from the govt of Iran. I suppose you also believe they dont have a nuclear weapons program brewing either?

Maybe you and Sean Penn can act as human shields when the bombing begins.

Why don't you go read about the Defense Act, what the GOP placed into it, what was removed, how that related to what Iran did with the Straight and their threats, and get back to me? Because that's the subject.

No the subject is you inferred that US "agressiveness" was inciting "trouble" with Iran as though you are the Bagdad Bob of Iran.

Nope. That's your straw man. Good luck with your personal insults. I'm sorry the actual contents of the Defense Act, over the past several months, and the reactions they incited on the international stage, are apparently over your head, and over your ability to debate them.

You haven't got a clue what the Defense Act negotiations have been about either, do you? :D

And I'm sorry they're over the head of our President
