Who is right?

This is a convo between 2 people. Nothing has been edited. We will call them X and O. If I knew how to make a poll I would. The conversation is clearly about Empire Way. Before X first comment it was brought to X's attention that Empire Way ran a beyer of 65. BTW rumor is O thinks X is kinda cute.

X-Closer over a synthetic surface. You might aswell ignore the beyer, unless you want to add about 5-10 pnts, since that is typically what you have to do with a horse that is running over syns to compare to dirt.

O- Check out the charts. The race right before it was the exact same distance for claimers and they went over 2 seconds faster. Why would you ignore it or add 10 points to it? Dont be silly.

X-One, your comparing two year olds to older horses. Two, the styles of the winners starkly contrast. The winner of the third led all the way around, keeping his own pace. The was a duel in the second, that had Empire way sitting about 5 back, meaning his overall times were slower anyways, setting it up for him to run a slower time. Closers typically get slower BSF from Beyer. Synthetic runners also typically get lower BSF. Empire way was doing both, plus was never seriously asked down the lane. Don't call people things just because they have another viewpoint, especially when if you go back and look up some of things I just said, I have very valid points. It then in turn make you look like you are the one being "silly."

X- Also note I said 5-10, if you are going to take something from my comments please get it right.

O- Who says closers get slower figures, you? Come on now. I wont even comment on the rest of your stuff, its pretty much all wrong though. Beyers are speed figures, 2yr olds older horse it does not matter. The fact that a 6.5f race was exactly before Empire Ways race makes the figure very easy to make, VERY EASY. Like I said, he is slow and has to improve. I love the pedigree, maybe he will move forward enough to be competitive in some of the bigger races that he is clearly being pointed 2. Synthetic horses get lower figures? LOL So why did the claiming race before not come back slow? That race got a very solid figure. Its not about my viewpoint or anyones viewpoint, its about face and you making things up. There are pars for races, check it out. This race was not just slow, but it was really slow

First three posters in this thread are all wops!

Hah. I know you know better..

But...

Out of the 1,705 members here there are I think six Italian Americans, some dude in the UK, and all the rest are Jewish.

Though, Doug is only half Italian. The other half is Jewish as well.

X is very cute. Plus, she's interested in this stuff. She's a keeper for a while or longer.

Even though X is more correct than O, X should just suck it up and slowly see if he can educate O a bit more as time goes by.

For now, X should just let O know that he's very impressed with her knowledge of handicapping.

I'm guessing here that X knows it's to his advantage to let O think that she is more correct than he is.

Good luck.

In a match-up against Erin Andrews -- I'll take Rachel Nichols and the points all day long.

Doug is this the chick that you told him you'd set him up with, then started banging her?

Hard to follow this post but................it is very hard for me to ignore raw speed figures, whether they are Beyer, Bris, Thorograph or whatever. I'm sure it has cost me but this seems pretty clear cut. The time was slow. Room for improvement---sure. Future potential---absolutely. I'm sure there are plenty of examples out there but, how many really quality horses exploded into Triple Crown or Graded horses with figures beginning in the 60's? There could be a big move when going to dirt (I Want Revenge) but this race stands by itself.

I expect Empire Way will improve and certainly looks like the kind who can have a nice future but this race stands by itself.

Gate, please stop trying to hijack the thread with facts and figures about Empire Way. This thread is clearly about Jews, Italians and more importantly Redheads.

Thank You

No. She knows zero about horse racing. The first time she ever watched a race in person or on tv was on our first date.

The closest she's come to a making a horse racing post is when she posted this pic the other day and bragged to her friends about how it's my weapon of choice.

It's Jason Lumpkin's old whip. I leave it in her bedroom and whip the friggen hell out of her in between watching old episodes of Spartacus (1st season) on DVD. It leaves some pretty sweet welts. It started when I made her watch the first season of HBO's Rome -- and I'd give her pop quiz's after each episode -- one crack for each wrong answer.

One time, she started talking during an episode of Rome -- that didn't go well for her. I paused it and Jorge Chavez'd her ass for like 30 seconds straight.

You're lucky you don't live in Europe, you would have probably been fined......................
