Game on Dude

Watched the race again. Game on Dude ran one hell of a race. She was asked to maintain the lead early on and even more so around the turn, and still no one could pass him until the last steps from outside.

Not hearing much talk about it but that was one nice job.

He is a "street fighter" type of horse when he gets the lead. (Love that Halo bloodline!) :)
Also reminds me alittle of Silver Charm in that if another horse is close to him, he will try to fight it off but a horse coming wide, he doesn't see. Looked like the 1997 Belmont.

Yep a real warrior? The horse is ok he is trained by a terrific speed trainer. He ran a comfortable what 106 BSF not for nothing in most years he would have lost by 8 lengths, he might be a warrior in the paddock but he is simply an ordinary G1 type horse living in a very uninspiring time in racing.

The Filly didn't fire or is fried, Flat Out didn't fire, Who knows about Uncle Mo? The other colts Stay Thirsty and Honor and Serve are fraud a and b. Too bad Awesome Gem wasn't around to suck up for a piece.

I tossed Game On Dude completely thinking the pace would be stronger with Mo pressing the horse along. Game on Dude ran well... but you're right...

This Breeders' Cup was fun as always - betting opportunities, some stars and some excitement.... but we are definitely in a funk right now in terms of quality horse flesh. I think back just five or so years ago when Invasor ran down Bernardini... those would have ate yesterday's field for lunch. Ghostzapper might have looked like Secretariat.

And not to mention... Afleet Again is now a Breeders' Cup winner.

I'm all for honest horses that show up every dance, year in and year out, but when horses like Afleet Again, Court Vision, and Drosselmeyer are winning these races, it's time to remove the "World Thoroughbred Championships" pretense from the Breeder's Cup name.

Thank God Tres Borrachos didn't win the Dirt Mile.

I guess you have nothing else to do but bang on this horse. Like he knows what phucking era he's running in.

Here's what we witnessed:

Uncle Mo, the wunderkind 2yo, with the "who knows how great he may be" talent, stared the leader in the face and got his Dick handed to him.

The shoe-in HOY, trained by the likable filly-maven Cowboy, made a move mid-stretch, and was turned back by the leader. Hey Ricky, don't rush to the Beverly Wilshire in December.

The New Zealand bred, Euro-uber horse took his shot turning for home. Guess the dirt, hood, and juice didn't work out for you. Sorry Nick Luck.

THAS...PA Derby champ. The supposed better talent of the 2 Mott's, made his presence felt for a split second. "Toto, we're not in Bensalem anymore."

This horse may have lost in the final few yards...but don't you marginalize him! I get it...you pour yourself a Bombay, fire up the computer, and start pontificating about a lot of nothing.

LARHAGE 11-07-2011 09:45 AM

Why not Acclimation then? He easily handled Game on Dude and won Grade 1 races on 3 surfaces, he's certainly worthy of being in the mix, I know he is better than Drosselmeyer.

It's great fun, its great to bet, the harm it has done to the sport is immeasurable at this point I wish we could go back in time but we can't, we are stuck with the 3000 lb gorilla that we love to come watch once a year but hate to feed 364.

Rollo dont forget Perfect Shirl too!

But yes the BC needs to market this thing differently now, its really ridiculous to call this the World Thoroughbred Championships or make it seem to be the end all be all of races. World Racing Carnival would seem a better fit, but only people oustide of America would call it a racing carnival..haha

I'm in favoring of eliminating it all together. However, as a compromise, I think that having two Breeder's Cups per year would be a decent idea. Have one in April at Santa Anita where races like the Big Cap and San Juan Capistrano are incorporated. Have the other in October at Belmont where the JCGC and Joe Hirsch are used.

Chantal's goggles from the Classic, caught by fellow DT'er Brockguy.

Of course with his connections they were immediately sent to the jock's room to be 'properly' signed. Brilliant end to a grand weekend.

he asked...and apparantly she doesn't wear them. Unless 'the guy' sent to get the autograph pocketed them.

Doubt that though as 'the guy' has plenty of panties in his collection.

He got run down by Drosselmeyer. Calm down.

Might have? With the way that race was run she wins by 5.

I watched the Goodwood several times last week and was ultra impressed by the fractions Dude carved out and kept on running....then I tossed him except for the 4 hole on my supers.
