5th: MSW, 2yo, 8.5f-IT (P6, P3, DD, Super)

Very intriguing MDN event here with Dendrite (20-1) and Rock Harder exiting 9/17 affair that is sending Pletcher/Repole's Our Entourage to today's Breeders' Futurity and Motion/West Point's Gold Megillah to Sunday's Bourbon. Additionally, Punctual Jeff (4-1) and Super Saturday (6-1) ran behind Kitten's Kid (2nd in Pilgrim last week) on 9/3, and Two Months Rent (7-2) has chased both State of Play (With Anticipation winner) and Optimizer (Breeders' Futurity). All, as well as firster Star Channel (10-1 and half to MSW on turf Changing World) can win this..

Steve,

In the 4th @ Belmont, did you mean to omit the #11 Djokovic from your Super play? You had him earlier, but changed with the scratch of the #10.

Thanks in advance, and best of luck today with the full card!!

Had to take the shot at 6/1...

Leparoux might be the first guy to clinch a Keeneland jockey title after two days.

I laughed..

Kasept 10-08-2011 02:12 PM

Punctual Jeff 8/5??

pointman 10-08-2011 02:22 PM

Corey Nakatani has won 4 of the first 5 races and Belmont and his mount scratched in the only race he hasn't won. Is there a full moon out there?

Kasept 10-08-2011 02:27 PM

Beneficiaries in the "Flattery Derby" (via result in Belmont 5th) are Optimizer (upcoming Breeders' Futurity) and State of Play who have previously bettered Two Months Rent..

Further from the 5th as Andy just tweeted, Romans' Cozzetti had variety of trouble that denied him the win..

Nakatani riding as hot at Belmont (4 W's) as Leparoux is at Keeneland (3)..

Kasept 10-08-2011 03:01 PM

Interesting how Shotgun Gulch took the money between she and Musical Romance. I leaned that way too with the Madison win to her credit, but surprised at the 6-1 to 11-1 spread..

jms62 10-08-2011 03:08 PM

Here comes those damn Kittens again...

pointman 10-08-2011 03:19 PM

Nakatani is putting on a clinic at Belmont today. Maybe he needs to be tested.

Let him keep it going at least another 3 mounts: My Miss Aurelia, Rubber Duck and... Ausable Chasm.

;)

He could easily win with his last two mounts. What is the record at Belmont?

A few have won 6 in one day in New York, but at Belmont, Jorge Velasquez is the only one to win on all of his day's mounts (7/9/81). Ramon Dominguez is the most recent to net 6 at Belmont (6/5/11).

Kasept 10-08-2011 03:46 PM

How tough is Never Retreat!?! :tro:

pointman 10-08-2011 03:54 PM

There is no stopping Nakatani, you can only hope to contain him.

Not really sure what Castellano was thinking with that strategy.
