Weiner's seat goes to Republican
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/q...VgJzMMmlveMbBO
Obama continues to make history as he manages to alienate one of his party's most loyal factions. Change! |
For a district who NEVER elected a Republican to congress EVER this is a huge statement against Obama, his failed programs and specifically his stance against Israel and for anything Arab.
He came into office preaching the great accomplishments and inventions of the Arab world (mostly lies and half-truths) and now he can go out knowing he tried to make the Arab world free, even going so far as becoming their friend and financial supporter. While he should have been focused on the US economy and jobs he was on a worldwide tour handing out our money. While asking for more tax dollars he was financing a solar panel company with no business plan and despite being subsidized, failed miserably. While the country cries for oil independence, specifically from the Arab world, he has shut down and denied every plan that would pursue it. His wife, who experienced pride in America for the first time in her mid 30's, and he should realize 'their America' is something completely foreign to the 'average American' who has had pride in his/her country all their life. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. |
:tro:
I'd put Obama's chance at re-election at this moment at 30% |
This seat has always been Democratic, but you can't ignore the difference between the two districts involved, the results of the most recent Presidential in these two districts, and why that happened. "Democratic and Republican" matters less than other influences in one of these districts. Brooklyn and Queens are two entirely different areas, with different base voters that vote for different reasons historically. The results of this election (the marked difference between Brooklyn and Queens) isn't really any surprise at the local level. It has little to do with any "referendum" on Obama, and more towards Brooklyn voting as it usually is predicted to.
U.S. House - District 9 - Special General County Precincts David Weprin (Dem) Bob Turner (GOP) C. Hoeppner (SWP) Total 472/512 29,689 47% 33,816 53% 278 0% Brooklyn 147/170 6,121 33% 12,584 67% 29 0% Queens 325/342 23,568 52% 21,232 47% 249 1% This district is eliminated in the next election, btw, anyway. |
nothing to see here, move along.
Obama knows all. |

Ed Koch openly campaigned for the Republican Turner and made it no secret that he did so in opposition to Obama's policies and in hope of waking up the Democratic party. This district has Democrats outnumbering Republicans 3 to 1. Even Democrats have had enough of Obama! This is truly change that we can believe in! |

BTW, what do you think of the six Democratic assemblymen elected? Pretty strong anti-Obama message sent there, right? By the very same folks that elected the GOP Congressman and sent ... well, a different message. But both are about Obama! Yeah, that makes sense. |
I read the big reason the Dem didnt win is because there are a lot of Jewish voters in the area that do not support Obama's stance on Israel. Also a lot of people were upset the Dem supported the building of the mosque near groud zero.
It had everything to do with the current administration and the democrats talking points. Obama has no chance of winning in 2012 if he loses the Jewish vote. http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/...l/jewvote.html (78% Obama in 2008. right now 22% approve of Obama) |

I see why Riot is so in love with him as they are very much alike, they both think they are 100% right regardless of what reality is or others think. |

The interesting thing is: list the quantitative differences between Obama's and Bush the Lesser's actions and statements on Israel. Perception and reality are not always equivalent. |

But you cant expect the Jewish population in America to forget when Obama publicly, and in the middle east of all places, stated that he wants Israel to change back the borders with the Palistinians. He has his work cut out for him in 2012, thats for sure. Its too bad both choices for prez will suck and be 98% similar, again. |

Like you said - perception, reality, the truth is they (the two Presidents) are virtually the same. |

See in Riot’s mind Obama ‘gets it’ like Carter did and we all know Carter once called Israel the worst culprit of human rights violations in the world. After being given a chance to reconsider his lunatic-like statement he added they were worse than even Rwanda where it was commonplace to put a tire around one’s neck and light it on fire using gasoline. :zz::wf |

This title is really in poor taste.
