RIP Struttin

A few on here know our 13 year old Greyhound Struttin who we adopted 8 years ago. Unfortunately, his health had deteriated and he had to be put to sleep this morning. I'm not going to go overboard because I know he's a dog, but Greyhounds are such sweet gentle animals who just want a bed to sleep on and to be cared for. He was wonderful and will be missed.

On a lighter note, in the 8 years we had him he averaged 3 walks a day each and every day no matter the weather so he had almost 9,000 walks in his life...that's not bad:)

RIP hound...loved ya'

Very sorry Bob.

I am sorry for your loss. It's difficult to lose someone whose very presence in your life brings you happiness and peace. It sounds like you gave him a wonderful home and a great life.

I'm so sorry, Bob. :(

It's always hard losing a family member.

I hope you can think of him again one day soon and smile.

Bob;

I guess you won't be leaving the driving to him anymore.

But it is a sad day when you lose your wuffie.

So hang in there.

Bob:

I'm very sorry for your loss. Struttin sounds like he was a wonderful dog. Clearly you gave him a good home and loved him very much. Hang in there and consider adopting again when the time is right.

Struttin is up there running around with Nikki. My best friend called me today to let me know that she lost Nikki last Monday. Nikki was a sweet, lovable Border Collie. I got Nikki for my friend about 11 years ago after her last dog passed away. She had just moved to her dream property where she could keep her own horses.

God bless Struttin and Nikki. :{>::{>:

Please everyone give your pet/s an extra hug or two today just for the heck of it.

Sorry for your loss, unfortunately all pet owners go thru this at some point and time and it is never easy. Sounds like you guys gave him a fantastic life!

My sympathies go out to you, Bob. Hopefully another animal of your's can brighten up your day in a little while.

Bob-You really had the highs and the lows with the animals today.

Really sorry to here about old boy Struttin. I always got a charge out of him slipping him a few pieces of pizza when you weren't looking. Now you know why he had the rip-roaring drizzlin' sh*ts the next day.

geeker2 08-04-2011 07:47 PM

Bob - your a good Dude! Sorry for your loss my friend.

dagolfer33 08-04-2011 10:30 PM

I can sympathize Bob, I too had to put my Grey down about 4 months ago. It was devastating having to make that decision, she looked great some days and some days she was lethargic. My girl had skin cancer, and although we had several operations to remove tumors, they would constantly reappear. She lived to 11, and with yours making it to 13, they outlived their odds. I would encourage anyone with the means and right habitat to adopt one of these sweet dogs. Sorry for your loss.
