I know he has a few fans on here. Hope he's OK!

“He has a little insult on the outer edge of his right front tendon,” Bush said late Thursday morning. “I don’t know for sure yet what the issue is, it might be nothing, but we have to look at it and be careful so I’m not going to enter him in the race.”

Bush said he had an ultra-sound procedure scheduled for Get Stormy Thursday afternoon.

Update from NYRA's site

Quote:

Dual Grade 1 winner Get Stormy will miss the opportunity to defend his Grade 2 Fourstardave title on Sunday after being diagnosed with what appears to be a minor tendon issue, trainer Tom Bush said Thursday afternoon.

"He has a little pimple on the edge of his right front tendon," Bush explained. "It looks very good on ultrasound and I'm not too worried about it. Peritendinous, is how it's described. We'll probably come back after medicating him for a couple of days and re-ultrasound it to make sure, but the tendon itself seems perfectly fine. We want to be conservative. That news is about as good as we could get, even though the timing wasn't great."

I made money on this guy a couple times when he faced absolutely no pace pressure. Any kind of pace he folds like a cheap suit. Get him in a real race like the BC Mile and he shows what he is. Dedicated front runner. If people think this is what passes for great now, the sport is in really bad shape.

I don't think anyone is saying he's great. He's just fun to watch.

Sure, just like Precious Passion was. That was fun to watch and you had to cheer for the guy. He would have tied up with Twirling Candy and both would have crashed and burned and someone like Beau Choix or Turallure runs by the both of them in the stretch. Now it's all set up for TC and if he loses, there is no excuse. Guess I've just been arguing with a guy about him for too long. He told me he was going to beat Goldikova in the BC Mile because he looked so awesome in this race last year. Guess which one finished last.

Wasn't he the horse this past weekend who was pulled up early out of a workout because of a loose horse?

Yes!

DRF|Saratoga: Morning traffic jams on turf course lead to restrictions

Quote:

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Trainer Tom Bush was intently eyeing Get Stormy as his multiple Grade 1 winner began to pick up momentum under jockey Ramon Dominguez during his final workout over the Oklahoma turf course in preparation for Sunday’s Grade 2 Fourstardave here at Saratoga. Suddenly, Bush heard the blaring sound of the horn that is activated when a horse gets loose on the track.

“I looked over and saw the loose horse beginning to turn back up the stretch [going the wrong way] along the inside fence and my heart started pounding so hard,” said Bush. “I was about as insane as you get watching the riderless horse head in Stormy’s direction. I kept turning back and forth from my horse to the loose horse so many times I don’t even remember where Ramon eventually got him pulled up.”

Fortunately for Bush and the dozens of other horses either working or galloping around the track at the time, the unidentified loose horse decided to wheel about 100 yards from the finish line, crashed and knocked over part of the inside fence, and ran off into the infield, where he was safely pulled up by an outrider a short while later. Meanwhile, Dominguez, ultimately sensing the seriousness of the situation, began to ease Get Stormy up inside the sixteenth pole, completing the work and happily bringing him home safely to his anxious connections.

Get Stormy in the mix for Bernard Baruch after clean scan

Quote:

"We scanned him again and everything looks clean," trainer Tom Bush said. "We'll probably be a little conservative and give him a couple more days of tack walking and jogging, but I think we're OK.

"The Bernard Baruch is not out of the question, but we'll just have to see how we do here for the next five or six days before we can really say for certain," Bush said. "On ultrasound, we seem to be in good shape, so hopefully it will stay that way."

DRF|Saratoga: Get Stormy looks healthy for Bernard Baruch

Quote:

Multiple Grade 1 winner Get Stormy gave all appearances Friday morning that he is over a minor physical issue that forced him to miss last month’s Fourstardave Handicap, and he now appears on course to return in the Grade 2, $200,000 Bernard Baruch Handicap here at Saratoga on Aug. 26

VIDEO-Get Stormy breezes 6f for Bernard Baruch

Bloodhorse|Get Stormy breezes for Bernard Baruch

Quote:

The five-year-old, who took to the turf at approximately 8:45 a.m. (EDT) under jockey Ramon Dominguez, was clocked in 1:13 3/5 by trainer Tom Bush before galloping out in 1:26.

Loose horses have caused trouble in Get Stormy's two previous works, and while his breeze was uninterrupted on Friday, he wheeled around pulling up and unseated Dominguez, who managed to keep hold of the reins and remount.

"The work was very good," Bush said. "We couldn't have been more pleased. I wasn't too pleased about him wheeling with Ramon when he pulled up, but luckily Ramon was able to keep a hold of him and he's no worse for wear. It was the work that we kind of expected out of him and he gave it to us."
