Suffolk Sham?

5th Race - Suffolk Downs - June 25, 2011

8 Dignified Essence 72.80 28.60 11.80
5 Mr. Jolson 7.00 4.20
9 Suave Charmer 3.80

$1 Perfecta 8-5 197.20 ($22,903)
$1 Trifecta 8-5-9 567.90 ($14,561)

The Per and Tri seem to have come back way short. And then in the 9th race, they post the winning 2-6 perfecta payoff on the old tote board even before the photo had come down.

what's the big deal?

the morning line on the two exacta horses were 10:1 and 3:1 - obviously the winner got ignored in the small WPS pool only......next complaint?

EDIT: I just noticed the exacta was for $1.00, i thought it came back very good

Obviously posting payoffs before anything is official is a mistake, but exotic payoffs and tote calculations are done before the race goes official. Once the tote room gets the numbers, they queue-up the payoffs right away... that way, once it's official (provided all the money is in and there are no lost connections) they can hit enter or whatever and the payoffs are immediately published.

If there is an inquiry or DQ, or if someone had the order typed-in wrong, they can go back and make adjustments before "finalizing" the race.
