What kind of stud deal could Animal Kingdom fetch?

If he were retired today? On another note, what happens now to leroidsdeanimaux's value?

Minimal and almost nothing?

I know they say Leroy is really ugly and I don't think he's been managed well. . . In the current state of the bloodstock industry/economy, can any horse really be worth that much?

Let's see what he does in the Preakness.

I've been looking at Animal Kingdom's pedigree....European, South American with a splattering of American influences....obviously loaded with stamina on top and bottom. On top Candy Stripes and his daddy, B/C CDR Blushing Groom, Dancing Brave back a bit on dam's side and his daddy, C CDR Lyphard. Probably not that desirable to American breeders but a win in the Preakness could change all that. Anytime a horse with obvious turf breeding steps up and wins a grade one on dirt folks take notice but he needs to show it wasn't a one time deal. A win in the Preakness and his stud fee will soar.

Beyond doubtful.

Time will tell, useless to debate this now. Animal Kingdom has just won the Derby, now will he continue on? As a side note, as of 2009, Leroidesanimaux stood for $17,500.

It's more likely that Animal Kingdom will be sold for several millions to take a run at the Dubai World Cup than he would command a stud deal at that same level in the US.

Yes, Irwin has a Chechnyan maniac who has probably already lined it up.

But no one has probably made better deals than the Halls (Sweet Ducky, Westside Bernie, Atomic Rain). At least Animal Kingdom is an accomplished horse.

Anybody could have sent a mare to Leroidesanimaux for $10k as late as Friday.

I get that Leroidesanimaux may be throwing some dirt horses. I even accept that. But what in tarnation in Animal Kingdom's bottom half is dirt pedigree? Honest question.

They held onto Pants on Fire though. Should send him packing

Interesting! As I posted earlier stud registry had him at $17,500 in 2009 but farm has him at $10,000 for 2011, quite a decrease, we'll see what effect Animal Kingdom has on same.

No one pays retail on horses at that level of stud fee.
