Dialed In

Steve - or anyone else at Churchill for that matter :

I am hearing rumors about Dialed In. Any info out there?

slotdirt 05-03-2011 03:25 PM

If you talked to anybody who was at CD last year, they all claimed Ice Box looked like he was about to fall apart at any moment. I suppose they were right, just off by a couple races.

Alan07 05-03-2011 03:28 PM

What rumors?

Arletta 05-03-2011 03:29 PM

I hear he's "ripped" :)

Rootdog1 05-03-2011 03:30 PM

Bad step this morning & general health of the horse....He is my pick at this point, and these are not facts....that is why I am asking from reliable sources.

randallscott35 05-03-2011 03:33 PM

My sources say he is Islamabad cuurently.

Merlinsky 05-03-2011 03:33 PM

Steve Haskin said he had dapples.

 After Zenyatta I can't read him, I break out in hives, I mean dapples.

They just interviewed Zito on HRTV and he seemed fine/didn't say anything about Dialed In.

blackthroatedwind 05-03-2011 03:39 PM

I talked to him for a half hour yesterday and he was in a great mood....Nick, that is, not Dialed In.

They're fueled by Zito having stayed at Palm Meadows and him having just the two works since FL Derby. While he looks terrific physically, he isn't a pretty mover on track, which provides more fodder for the rumor mill. Zito and his team are placid and confident of him running well, and he certainly wouldn't be the first crabby-going horse to win the Derby.

John.. I'm sorry. That's totally false. Ice Box was jumping out of skin leading up to the race last year and anyone who listened to me or any ATR broadcast the 2 weeks leading up were aware of that.

:D :p Hey at least you missed the 60 Minutes thing they did on her this week. I like that they're promoting horse racing by showing her, and she's a very statuesque gal, I just get annoyed that she's apparently the only horse they find interesting. She didn't spring from the loins of Pegasus for crying out loud. If this is gonna be a yearly thing, could they at least expand it to a few other horses? Throw in Tiznow, Smarty, Funny Cide, Rachel, the KY Horse Park, the Old Friends farm. Actually, yeah, just do Old Friends for an hour. They deserve the whole slot.

Maybe I was talking to the wrong people then. I chatted on Derby morning with a few folks I knew had been on the grounds all week, and they thought Ice Box was being held together with tape and string. In any event, they were wrong.

Rootdog1 05-03-2011 04:13 PM

Thanks Steve.

OldDog 05-03-2011 04:14 PM

He's just not a morning pers...

You might not be broke anymore?

By the way, I can't really name drop in this industry. Is it name dropping when Nick mentions me to reporters?

Andy, I drop your name 2 or 3 times a day. Miniumum. Of course, I only started doing it when "Hi, I'm former KentuckyDerby.com blogger Justin Dew" stopped working after my Mine That Bird analysis of two simple words ("No chance") was roundly mocked.

And then there's still the whole Zanjero obsession.

Anyway, I owe some free steaks in Manhattan to our friendship.

It's OK.....I drop your name as well. Suprisingly, most transvestites have heard of you.
