Nadal out of the Open

Lost to some Russian kid. He looked very flat today. Now its all Federer.

Good match tonight between Hewitt and ahole Roddick. Hope Hewitt rushes him.

Nadal does not have that big serve that can pull it out on faster courts. Some matches when you are flat you just need some easy points off that first serve. Nadal does not get those as often as Federer. Nadal's ground strokes have improved on fast surfaces though. He is going flatter and not hitting the huge loopers that work so well on clay but kill you on grass or hard faster surfaces. I will give him that. I dont see any reason why he cant improve his serve. He has the height and strength. He is still young. He can improve. The guy really does hate to lose. Thats what I like about him.

But that can also be the mental undoing of some. It was for McEnroe imo. McEnroe had the best touch on the ball I have ever seen. But his inability to control himself hurt him badly in the long run. Despite what he says in his book. I saw him lose some matches because he could not get over a bad call sets earlier.

Oh yes. Roddicks new coach, Mr. Jimmy... may have been the toughest competitor of all time. Damn Connors just refused to ever give in. If he could transfer that mental toughness to his pupil...

Gander Roddick shredded the guy. You made a bad call on Roddick for this tourney. Granted beating Federer in the finals is unrealistic, but hes going to the finals. Connors has done a great job with him. WOn't be anything to be ashamed of making the finals of the US Open after he dropkicks the Russian.

Women's side I still like Justine. Shes got a cake match up next that shouldnt take anything out of her and Mauresmo has gotta play Sharapova. I think the crowd will be behind Justine in the final as well.

Roddick is very lucky Nadal lost. That said Roddick isnt anywhere near great and this guy wont be any kind of pushover for him. I hope the Russian kid beats Roddick to a pulp. I cant stand to look at him. Even if ahole Roddick gets through hes got no chance at taking down Federer. Thats kind of like comparing Phil & Tiger, wouldnt you say?

Don't think the Russian can re-group enough to beat Roddick. He got the prize he wanted.Hard to get hungry again.Just my guess.Roddick is tough at the U.S. Open.Don't think he will beat Federer though.

Tough at the open until he plays a real tennis player. He got a gift when Nadal had nothing yesterday. I doubt Nadal would ever lose to Roddick on any surface in a major. Anybody who considers this guy a great tennis player knows very little about the game. If it wasnt for his serve, he'd be on the satellite tour.

We are very lucky to have Nadal & Federer for many years to come. Everyone else just does not matter. Plain and simple. I hope Roddick loses and loses bad to the Russian. If he doesnt I guess Federer is up for giving him another lesson.
