Nickerbockers have something for the future......Celts look old, slow and lucky yet again...

The lines have been a dog player's dream. Dallas and Miami are the only two favs to cover the line (Dal 2-0 and Mia 1-1 vs spread). 13 games and the favs are 3-10.

Tomorrow night you have Lakers v hornets, Spurs v griz, thunder v nuggets. Anyone who watched game 1 of the spurs series realizes that was no fluke. The line is 8.5. I would take the griz. Thunder giving nuggets 4.5. Very evenly matched teams but i would take the nuggets plus the points. The Lakers game I would leave alone but forced to make a call i would hope that Chris Paul could keep the hornets in the game enough to cover 12.

Did anyone notice what was going on last game with Kobe "covering" paul? They switched on every screen to keep kobe fresh for the offensive end. Quicker point guards give the lakers a really tough time. Next round, they get westbrook or lawson.

Funny how in crunch time in their first 2 playoff games this year the Celtics and Doc Rivers thought West was good enough to close out games. Because you know teams like Boston always sign guys who aren't any good and put them on the floor when playoff games are on th line...

He can at least rebound and defend.

A coked up, 300 pound Ceballos would still be better than Bogans

A serious contender though he did only start 45 regular season games

Cannon Shell 04-22-2011 05:13 PM

Bogans in the regular season
started all 82 games
he averaged 4.4 points per game
he made 21 FT's the entire season (65%)
he averaged less than 2 rebounds a game
he had 9 blocked shots
he made 38 steals
he made 91 3 point shots
he shot 40%
he averaged 1.2 assists
he only played an average of 17.8 minutes per game which is the least amount of minutes he has averaged in his entire career save 2006-07 when he averaged 16.8. This despite never having started more than 49 games in a single season.

82 games
4.4 ppg
1.8 rebs
1.2 assists
40% fg
38% 3pt
65% FT

Has any starting NBA player on a good team (or maybe any team) ever had a season like this?

LOL Who else were they going to throw out there that can cover anyone? No one said he can't play any defense. Why do you think Bogans is out there? Bogans, if nothing else, is a tough vet that can defend a little bit and hit an open shot every tenth game.

dalakhani 04-22-2011 06:01 PM

Okay, what is the difference between Delonte West and Keith Bogans really? Bogans may "start" but he only averaged 18 minutes a game during the regular season which is about what Delonte averages. All stats are about the same as well.

So...my original statement was correct. If you are calling out bogans, Delonte is right there. They are both equally terrible.

At some point I would think the fact that Delonte West keeps finding himself on the floor in crunch time in playoff games for top teams despite the fact he is an injury prone, bi-polar, gun toting, milf loving psycho should tell you that NBA GM's think he is pretty good.

Of course comparing a guy who started 82 games with a guy who was injured most of the year and only played 450 minutes and saying their stats were the same kinda makes one wonder if you are drinking or channeling Dr Roman's numbers into basketball form

I laughed a lot.
