Terry Wallace

I didn't search for a duplicate thread...

Race 8 Oaklawn..

How can he not see Paisano Creek closing in a fast-paced race until 50 yards from the finish?

Is he blind?

He isn't very good.

DaTruth 04-02-2011 05:29 PM

He is running on fumes.

pointman 04-02-2011 05:42 PM

My guess is that he has some serious dirt on Charles Cella.

clambeau 04-02-2011 09:40 PM

The guy has the same "illness" that beset Judge Judy and the Anchor lady on the Academy Awards...All of a sudden they start speaking in tongues!!!

Wallace is God-awful...just God-awful...

no, he's not. here's hoping, based on his allowing the streak to end, etc, that his retirement is near. he's awful. oaklawn wants to be a big time track, they need to start by getting a decent caller.

Arkansas Derby Day will be fun indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no problem with Oaklawn, but could it really be considered a major/big time track without any turf course?

AeWingnut 04-03-2011 02:59 PM

silence big patch of silence

i said they want to be one-the last few years they've produced some good spring racing with notable runners going on to further successes. it's just a shame that those races are called by someone who is inept. too bad they don't have a turf course, i don't know that they ever could tho.

This is the first year there's a big change in everything Terry has done since the begining of time at Oaklawn. He doesn't do a weekly radio show anymore. He gets a day off every now and then and I imagine his retirement is at hand. At least from his duties at Oaklawn are concerned. Just about everyone considers Terry a friend and that Oaklawn wouldn't be the same without him. Oaklawn is changing and hopefully for the better. Do you think Vic Stauffer would consider a move to the boyhood home of Bubba?

rontheman1964 04-04-2011 08:45 PM

Won't be long...Chris Kotulak will be calling them into the short stretch of the mile race...:D

MaTH716 04-16-2011 08:39 PM

That really had to be one of the worst called races in the history of the sport today. He didn't get through the entire field once during the whole race. He mentioned the fifth place horse once after the opening quarter and that was after a second or two pause and then after the wire. If your horse ran sixth the whole way, then he never got a call. It was so bad that you almost have to feel bad for the guy. I think it's finally time for him to hang up the binoculars.

hockey2315 04-16-2011 08:44 PM

Ya I've never heard a call like that. I felt bad for him too.

herkhorse 04-16-2011 08:49 PM

I don't feel sorry for him. Can someone post a race from long ago when he was good? No, you can't because he was never good.

pointman 04-16-2011 08:56 PM

It is time to move Terry into a front office job or give him a watch, he's done enough!!

AeWingnut 04-16-2011 09:04 PM

I would never begin to try race calling - its a real art

but gotta agree that it is time
all he needed to do was throw in a "gaining ground" to be the all time worst

Herk, I'll admit that I don't like his style of calling races, but today went beyond that. It was a very inept call of the race and to make matters worse, it was in their signature event.

It seemed like someone kept trying to talk to him, thus distracting him.

That, or he was stoned.

Did Wallace mention Thunder Gulch again? He must have been disappoointed on Thursday when he learned that Shotgun Gulch, not Thunder Gulch, was running in that stakes at Kee.
