Changes at Colonial Downs

- Virginia Derby Day (July 16th) first post at 5 p.m. (All Wed, Thursday and Saturday cards will begin at 5 p.m., a change I like since it was brutally hot last year and will hopefully provide a little relief to the horses.)

- Turf Cup (June 18th) will not be graded this year, in favor of making the race for 3 year olds and up. (Not a fan of this change.)

The later starting times are great, if the rains are gone by then.:tro:

I assume you will be there?

I like the later starting times too. I won't miss a race when I work day shift and can sleep a little longer in the afternoon when I'm on midnight shift.

Why did they go to Wednesday and Thursday? I sorta liked them running on Monday and Tuesday last year.

I don't live as close as I used to, my dear.;)

The VA State Open is that same week (Thurs-Sun) in Richmond. I'm considering trying to qualify for it this year, so if I make it, I will be in town that week and with the late first post there is a great chance I will be there. It's either that, or I'm trying to make it to opening weekend at Toga. Just depends on a few things.

Tell'm!!!!!

the 5PM start gives me more time to sit in beach traffic coming down from the north, awesome!

guess i'll have to make accommodations to stay sat. night this year, since there is zippity chance i can sober up after another Thrill on the Hill.

Hey Roy McAvoy you need a caddie that sunday or what?

Needing a caddy on Sunday would require me to make the 36 hole cut first:wf

Nah...I don't have that kind of temper on the course.

I also don't wear a glove when playing, so that makes 3 things Couples and I have in common.
