Back to racing

Okay enough of the sappy threads. Whos going to win the Pirates Bounty tomorrow at Delmar?

If you can find the winner, it would be a feather in your cap. 5th race, check it out yo.

Not solid on this, Tim.
I remember Areyoutalkintome. A definite maybe.

Did we ever figure how the heck Noberto Arroyo got the mount on Moscow Burning?????

Gander 09-05-2006 04:09 PM

Jorge Chavez got to ride Sinister Minister.
Maybe if I lose some weight, I could ride Jungle Price in his next start.
Man the Southern California jockey colony is depleted. Its no wonder Espinoza can bag 7 races in 1 day.

dalakhani 09-05-2006 04:14 PM

Jet west is who im betting.

Gander 09-05-2006 04:17 PM

I dont have the PPs in front of me. How is his recent form? Are you betting to Jet West to win?

Who else can win?

This race is wide open. Jet West **** the bed in his first race back after Dubai so i am counting on a bounce back to form. They are flying Kent D out for the mount. I would imagine after the last work, the trainer has high hopes for him.

Old man river is going to come from off the pace and has a shot if it breaks down up front. I dont think he will get there though. He has been training well and is 3-2 from seven starts. Might be a tad short for him but i would use underneath.

Brooker, the other oneill, has a shot at a piece underneath. 5 for 6 in the money at the distance and this isnt a huge step up in class. I would include undereath.

Captain Squire will be overbet because of the connections but one has to wonder how much this horse has left at 7. When Bone owns him and Mullins trains him you just have to wonder how JUICED he will be. No pun intended of course.

In my opinion, the main threat will be Bushwacker. Nice race back last time, second off the layoff and is training like he really loves the track.

Areyoutalkintome is always a threat but youve got to take a stand somewhere.:)

Dont know anything about the argentinian horse and i am throwing out because of trainer.

The five horse, proud cardenal, is coming back from a 16 month layoff.

Tim,
I have a house that looked like it was hit by a tornado when i woke up this morning. Being on the go for 6 weeks definitely does not lend itself to a clean home.
I've spent part of today cleaning up and tomorrow will be part two, including washing just about every dish and pan I own thats piled in the sink. Laundry is on the agenda as well.
I'm not even looking at a race until tomorrow evening when I will only allow myself to go out and buy closing day at Del Mar's DRF when i am done with the tasks at hand.
Good luck tomorrow at Del Mar, but count me out!!

Thanks for the analysis Dalakhani. I will look at the race when I get out of work tonight.

Good luck with the cleanup Oracle. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on too. I was hoping to get out of here to do some laundry tonight but it aint happening. This weekend is starting to catch up with me now and I need to get to my bed soon.

thanks Gander. i would love to hear your take on it later. Certainly a tough race to bet and one could easily make a case for or against all but about 4 horses.

If I do play this race I will take a stand against the Captain at what figures to be 8/5 odds. Areyoutalkingtome can win but doesnt do it enough for me to take him at any lower than 4/1. His last race was sneaky good but wasnt close to a win. That leaves me with only a handful of possible players...Jet West, Bushwacker, and I guess Old Man River, although to be honest, I have never seen this guy run.

Good luck on Jet West. Very logical and figures to be one of the nicer prices of the contenders.

That del mar futurity looks like a nice race as well. you know times have changed when there isnt a single Baffert entry in this race.

I like Horse Greeley to wire em. Good luck.

By far in this race the best value is Brooker. Definitely worth a play. WP

dalakhani 09-06-2006 07:39 PM

Well, gander, we got screwed by the chalk in this race. Oh well.

Did you bet the futuritty?

Gander 09-06-2006 07:42 PM

Nice call Dal. So much for Prime Ruler. Hope he didnt burn too much money on here. As Rocky says, "Aint look so bad to me".

No and I only lost $25 on the Pirates Bounty.
Played Frankel's charge in the nightcap.

in the 9th coming up in ten minutes, i took vicki's honor at 5-1. And in the nightcap i am probably going to go with Afluenza.

Good luck.
