I can never see too many photos of these past greats. Thank you for sharing them.

Four of them retired to Old Friends. Precisionist (RIP) - what a sharp horse (I am staring at a framed photo of him at the Breeders' Cup), I can remember how thrilled Michael Blowen was to get him. Taylor's Special was there, too. Lost him the same year as Precisionist. You can still see Ogy and Gulch at the farm today.

Very, very nice...................I loved Gulch.

Ogygian is still alive?

I thought he was exported somewhere and had died.

I can barely remember seeing more than a couple of his progeny run.

He's at Old Friends. He's missing an eye, but comes over readily for carrots. I'll post one of him tonight.

Whatever happened to him? Did he go to Japan? I guess he was a total flop at stud.

I remember, I think it was Nerud, being quoted early in Ogygians career, when the hype was still massive on him, that he was worth $105 million as a stallion prospect.

I was like, "uh, yeahhhhhhhhhhh".

Fun horse however!

Speaking of Ogygian, his dam Gonfalon, was pretty useful.

Besides Ogygian, she dropped Fair to All, the dam of the very underrated Honour and Glory.

Also, she produced Lookinforthebigone, a horse Lukas rushed and ruined.

Now that was an impressive specimen. I thought he was going to be an awesome horse, and he sure looked the part. Another Lukas butchery.

Does anyone else remember Lookinforthebigone?

Thank you! Gulch was the first horse I ever followed from start to finish and he was pretty special.

I do - I think he was a big chestnut, if I recall.

Well he did beat Ketoh.

Taylor's Special is one of my favorites. I'll never forget his battles with Silent King as 3yos in 1984. Thanks for posting the photos.

Yes, he was!

A reddish chestnut if my fading minds eye is correct.
