Premier Pegasus...wow!

Just moved his record to 5/4-0-1 with a convincing win in the feature at SA, DP=11-6-13-0-0 so he has potential to be huge Derby factor.

Really?

What happened??

tjfla 03-12-2011 06:34 PM

who was in 4th?

HaloWishingwell 03-12-2011 06:34 PM

Had this horse been trained by Baffert out West we would have heard alot more about him by now.

SCUDSBROTHER 03-12-2011 06:37 PM

He's gritty. I know that much. I thought I had a race won at Hwd, but this horse
is very hard to pass.

He absolutely blew away the field, Jaycito closed for a distant 2nd off a blistering pace.

Neat!!!

Fractions were: 21.3, 44.2, 1:08.4, 1:34.2...final: 1:41.1

That race seemed to fall apart a little in my opinion. Premier Pegasus got first run and was long gone before Jaycito got into gear.

It was about as perfect a set up as you could ask for in my opinion. It was nice visually but it looked a lot better because the leaders were folding.

I would say Jaycito was asked for run before PP was. And with those splits, Jaycito should have made a bigger impression on the race.

Obviously the front runners backed up off that pace but Premier Pegasus was well placed in 5th while Jaycito seemed to close well but he never came close to PP who finished like a racehorse.

The fractions distort everything, but that was a visually outstanding move on the turn and straightening away. Absolutely full of run.

Yea, a Norfolk Winner, and a San Felipe winner. Street Hero didn't try as hard as this one does. I thought this horse had a chance to hold on today. Didn't know he could draw off.

SCUDSBROTHER 03-12-2011 07:44 PM

Jaycito must be a really weird horse. Both his trainers have thought they had the second coming.

Merlinsky 03-12-2011 08:01 PM

Wasn't Jaycito blinkers off today?

NTamm1215 03-12-2011 08:12 PM

How many West Point members are trying to cancel Future Wagers right now?

Yep and first off the bench. Not that i want to start a jaycito bandwagon. I just wouldn't look too negatively at this effort.

Haha. . . Interesting tactics employed by the flashy maiden winners. That's the way not to get burned out by Derby time.

Squall Linda probably deserves a bit more credit than Cho.
