OBS March

7 of the 12 Indian Charlie's in this sale worked today ....

the outright fastest of which ....

The dam of that one is a half sibling to the super freak Straight Man... a horse who ran Beyers of 106 and 109 in his first two starts before Baffert ruined him trying to rush into the Derby trail with him.

Looked kinda green too.

IC that one (16) galloped out very well too in 33.2. I would have to go through my notes but I think that was also the best gallop out of the day.

Pletcher got him.

Straight Man just doesn't have the kind of name that commands respect.

Sister. Tomorrow. Hip 398. Luis Olivares on ATR today, in attendance and interested.

146 is a filly who just sold for $47,000 - I hate Rockport Harbor - but she will end up being an infinitely better race horse than the vast majority of ones who sell for six figures.

She's at the very least - another Backbackbackgone - Western Mood type from that consignment. They sold for 65K and 50K at this sale with obvious Graded Stakes quality talent.

I believe Straight Man was also a half to the super swift filly Al's Helen.

Sightseek 03-15-2011 08:04 PM

Average down 8.8% and Median down 18.6%...but worst of all a Scat Daddy colt is the highest seller so far.

Blech!

I liked the IC hip #118 that brought 110k.
I thought he was in the top 3 of the entire sale.

From TDN...

Fireworks for Flatter Colt at OBS March
Posted: 11:50 AM ET

OBSMAR hip 265 2yo C Flatter--Silence Please $925,000

Breeder: Berkshire Stud (NY)
Buyer: Kaleem Shah
Consignor: Eisaman Equine, agent

Kaleem Shah came out on top after a protracted bidding duel, going to $925,000 for a handsome dark bay colt by Flatter during Wednesday's second session of the OBS March Sale. The juvenile turned heads with a bullet quarter-mile work in :20.3 Saturday. The colt, consigned by Eisaman Equine, is out of Silence Please (Quiet American) and is a half-brother to stakes winner Sky Music (Sky Mesa). Cobra Farm purchased the youngster for just $90,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale.

VOL JACK 03-16-2011 01:32 PM

Im sure 925k would buy Flatter himself.

Sightseek 03-16-2011 06:31 PM

I guessed the right horse in the contest but didn't win the name draw.
