Monster

This really belongs in international but I know some people don't go over there, so...

Ramzan Kadyrov is the President (or Dictator) of Chechnya. He's also an owner.

When Mourilyan was 3rd in the Melbourne Cup there was some question as to what to do with the prize money. A LOT of people thought that because of his reputation well they didn't want anything to do with him and argued it should stay in country.

Bronze Cannon has run and Mikhail Glinka (nice horse) is about to run in Dubai (on Thursday).

I never hear a peep about any of this so I guess it's not a problem over there BUT what would happen if he wanted to come for the BC?

I don't want this to turn into a Godolphin fight (I no longer have a side anyway) because it's not about them at all... it's about someone who is linked to systematic torture, rape, murder, disappearances... someone whose name can be used in the same sentence as crimes against humanity. (I realize I'm leaving a door open here but can we try to stay on this one topic? Thanks).

What happens if someone like that wants to come or, at the very, least enter their horses?

What should happen?

Don't believe the press. It's usually nothing more than propoganda.

I'm not saying he's a monster or isn't a monster, and he is a politician, so these things might be true, but then again, his opponents might just want you to think that.

I do know he had a great Russian champion named Indian Jameson. He went six for six and won the Russian 2000 Guineas.

He's considered by at least 2-3 people to be the greatest Russian racehorse ever.

I wonder if this was his groom.

(Not going to post link after link listing the allegations but I just found this and thought it was well... interesting).

His horse, Bankable, won today in Dubai.

Hooray!

Wonder where he's gonna spend the :$:.

Kalashnikov, hired assassins, paying people to kidnap, torture and murder human rights activists, more "pets" (like the tiger he allegedly keeps chained up that he enjoys beating (hey we all need hobbies, right?)...

So little time, so many crimes.

You expect people who condon little boy camel jockeys stolen from there families and slaves that are imported from 5th world countries to give a flying fvck?

my miss storm cat 03-03-2011 04:19 PM

There was a kind of raw eloquence in that post, Freddy. :D

No I don't expect anyone to give a **** and believe me once today is over I'll have forgotten all about it too (hey I'm human and I'm not holier than thou... just makes me sick. That he bought Mourilyan makes me want to vomit) BUT it's worth mentioning.

my miss storm cat 03-21-2011 11:24 AM

He just bought Gitano Hernando.

Amazing. Apparently he was also trying to buy another American based horse who ended up not getting invited. That's a very short list of potential horses.

Hopefully the horses are treated better than the pet tiger (I'll be nice and add "apparently" here) was.

Now people? That's a whole different ballgame.

Poor horse.

He wont be tortured, beated, raped, missing, assassinated but still... too bad that **** bought him.

That idiot took Abrams out of that hog? Now that is a crime against humanity

Kadyrov is a snappy dresser.

Never trust a guy who willingly dresses in jumpsuits.

Didn't realize he was back home.

Thanks for posting the link L... I would have missed it.

1st- I seriously didn't know that to own/enter a horse you had to be approved to do so by the state you plan on entering your horse in. Of course I knew this was the case for trainers. But not owners. But if the accusations are even somewhat true I'm glad for this.

2nd- the Ontario guy does kind of bring up a good point. Thus far it's all accusations. Can you really hold him back until you know (if ever?)? Interesting article, but somehow I'm siding with the way the Ontario people handled it over the NY and KY people did... Although i'd be giving the guy the stink-eye the whole time lol.

Just now catching this. Maritimer is possibly pointing to the Derby. The pesky problem of getting a Kentucky racing license might be an issue. At least I hope it will be. I know Maritimer's owner said it was too much money to walk away from, but I really couldn't let a horse go to a man like this, knowing his plan for it. Surely if a guy like Paragallo gets run out of the sport, you can't let this war criminal run a horse in the Derby. No matter what good things are going on, this loser would be the story and make us look bad as a sport. Not all publicity is good publicity.
