2011 NFL Draft

I believe tomorrow is the deadline for underclassman to declare. I know Andrew Luck as already declared he will stay in school. I would not be shocked if the 49ers work out a deal with Carolina for the first pick and after that Luck decides to enter the draft. IMHO he is taking a big risk staying in school with a new coach and system coming to town.

I wonder if the impending lockout influenced his (and any other under classmen) decision to stay in school.

The Offensive Coordinator is taking over so there will be no system change. It seems like he actually wants to get his degree, so I think he's going to stay in school even though he'd certainly be the #1 pick.

A lot. If they are locked out, not only are they not getting paid, they are not getting better on the field.

Might as well stay in school for a guaranteed 12-14 game season, with training facitilities, three squares and a roof over your head until the Owners and the Union get their **** together.

There is the obvious injury risk, but aren't they running that risk every day when they get out of bed?

Gotcha. That would make sense and others mentioned the lockout which I totally forgot about.

Even that can be covered to a degree by an insurance policy. It isnt as though he comes from a poor family that cant afford one.
