Nothing like violating the Constitution. Geeshus, guys ...

A couple of House members have been voting since Wednesday without being sworn in.

Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, on Thursday administered the oath of office to Reps. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, and Mike Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., who were apparently absent from the chamber yesterday when Boehner swore in the other members.

The two lawmakers nonetheless voted on changes to the rules of the House, stripping the voting rights of House delegates and slashing the House budget by 5 percent. Technically, their votes shouldn't count, but it's unclear whether their names will be removed from the roll call for those measures, which all passed with plenty of Republican votes to spare.

Sessions is vice chairman of the House Rules Committee and his failure to take the oath of office promoted the committee to abruptly shut down its debate over how to handle the repeal of President Obama's health-care reforms on the House floor. The House was supposed to take up that measure Friday.

This has threatened to delay the GOP's bringing their symbolic health care repeal theatre out of committee and to the floor of Congress.

And Michelle Bachmann has been put on the Intelligence Committee. Where she will get access to top secret information. Baby geeshus, help us please.

Amen! It's great to know the Hipocrats err Democrats have never shirked responsibilities for personal gain... Wasn't Your Great Leader, Kim Jung Obama, made aware of the oil spill in the gulf, and subsequently blew it off to attend a fund raiser in San Francisco the next day and then blew it off again for another 2 weeks so he could go on vacation?

A little more important to the rest of the world than a retarded formality, dontcha think?

Nah... I figured.

Is that any worse than our sitting members voting on Bills they haven't read? Just to find out what's in them?

You think following the Constitution is a "retarded formality"?

Yeah. I figured.

The good news is, the delinquent boys were corralled and sworn in yesterday, and there will probably only be ethics violations against Fitzpatrick for violation of campaign finance laws, not Sessions. And they've finally apologized to their fellow GOP today (not the Dems, though, strange) for screwing up the six votes each made by voting illegally.

Three days into the 112th Congress. At least Saturday Night Live, Funny or Die, and Stewart/Colbert are guaranteed plenty of material the next two years <G>

Geesh, if you guys are simply going to keep repeating false things you are told to think, this room is gonna be pretty boring (yes, I'm referring to Pelosi's comments)

Do you even know what's happening in the Gulf today regarding the oil spill?

Yeah :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

At least when the Judge screwed up the wording of the last Presidential Oath of Office, they immediately took Obama inside and re-did it. Seriously, so there wouldn't be any Constitutional questions (and the far right wingnuts still went crazy about it)

I live 4 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. So to answer your question - Yes. I even know "what's happening in the Gulf today"

*12.6% unemployment as a result of your tool of a commander in chief sitting on his hands for 35 fuc1<ing days while the **** spewed morning, noon and night.

*Tourists avoiding the area like it is goddanmed Chernobyl as a result of your moron in chief doing nothing but pathetically attempting covering his worthless ass - By the way...did he ever even bother to figure out whether the head of the MMS was fired or was allowed to resign yet?

*Jobs and mortgages holders fleeing the state in droves leaving nothing but economic collapse in their wake.

*Going on a year after the fact and only 28% of the BP claims paid... No hue and cry from the corrupt administration that's been charged with "holding them accountable"....lol

That is what's "Happening in the Gulf". Even I know (as difficult as it might seem to someone as knowledgeable about how wonderful "all things Obama" are as you)

Well, no, a generalized rant blaming Obama for every single thing wrong in Louisiana, including holdover accumulating from the past many years, while completely ignoring state response, wasn't what I was talking about.

But I gave you your own thread on that one. Have at it.

I was talking more specifically about Plaquemines Parish environs, the oil still there, and the feds interaction now, this week.
