Emerald Ash Beetle? 'stopthebeetle.info'

http://www.stopthebeetle.info/

Anyone aware of this? Saw a driving billboard yesterday near Plattsburgh and looked it up today. Asian beetle that does terrible damage to ash trees. An FYI for those in the northern tier NY to Minnesota, down to Missouri and across to Virginia.

Just the pesky guests...

Last summer I kept seeing these purple boxes up in trees here and there. I'm in Maryland. These boxes sort of looked like kites stuck up in trees.

Come to find out they place these boxes by Ash trees to catch these beetles. They were also trying to determine how many beetles are out there.

Here's a link that's pretty interesting and provides more info.

On another note, they can take the Stink Bugs with them. Another up and coming pest.

They're always a real crowd pleaser.

clyde 11-22-2010 03:33 PM
