I assume there was a bet as to how long he'd be retired before he'd come back. Did anybody here get it right? I almost said "before he pulled a Brett Favre," but I realized that has a different meaning now than it used to.

It'll be interesting to see how owner Rick Porter divides up his horses between Tony Dutrow and Jones.

I like the guy. I thought his handling of the Eight Belles situation was as classy as it comes.

This is incorrect (sorry, Charlie). A single antacid tablet has 1,000 times more aluminum in it than a vaccine. And I imagine antacids are probably part of the average horse trainer's diet. ;) Vaccines are not a notable source of aluminum. A baby ingests more from his momma's milk than he gets in a full course of vaccines. (Pause while I push my nerd glasses back up my nose)

But you're right; you do get it from a number of sources. American cheese is fairly high in it, and if you drink soda or beer from cans you're ingesting it, too. That said, aluminum reaching toxic levels in someone's body is pretty rare; it's likely Larry Jones has a predisposition to it. In any event, glad he's feeling better and back to training.

I forgot about antacids. However, there is a difference between ingesting it and having it injected into your blood.

I'm glad he's decided to put himself in the public spotlight again. There was no valid reason for him to have to leave it in the first place.

:zz: I didn't say thousands personally sent him death threats. Although he indeed received quite a few. There were certainly thousands out in the newspapers and internet, on horse sites and elsewhere, that said it. The PETA clowns certainly tried to make his life miserable. The worse was seeing that vitriol coming from "racing fans".

To be fair, you said thousands told him he was a horse killer that deserved to die. That seems like a threat to me.

To be fair, let me better define my statement for the intellectually impaired children on this board who transparently pretend to care about accuracy, but really are only interested in starting shiat with other posters they don't care for :D :
