They all looked like crippled horses next time out.

Dude, again Im not coming at you, but why the hell does it belong at Belmont?
Last year Rachel was a classic race....
Curlin running in it was pretty great...
Lawyer Ron put on a show....
This year, at that time QR was the 1st or 2nd rated handicap horse in the country...
What has been wrong with it at Toga?

This was a clocker report I read before the race ....

Quote:

The ice cold box is Quality Road. He has made sparse appearances since working and just doesn’t look like a horse that is on his toes. He is a horse that just doesn’t seem excited to be here. He walked back to the barn after his work as if had been plowing the corn or soybean patch at Hoosier or Ellis Park. His gigantic figures or East Coast following will not shadow his shortcoming, and under the lights he should be exposed.

Yeah, I was told by someone from the old AOL days that they were having troubles keeping QR together. I'm not sure what that means, but his performance today wasn't too surprising.

We simply have too many Grade 1 races right now.

Good horses are racing A LOT less ... and the number of Grade 1's haven't changed.

However - I'm not sure I've ever seen a Grade 1 race before - where every single horse has come back and run like a crippled claiming horse.
