Life at Ten

Could somebody help me out to what the F happened? Was she lame? I Put some bets in with about a minute to post and didn't see any of the post parade. There seemed to be a very big problem with her.

knickslions2 11-05-2010 06:44 PM

Not sure what was wrong but she should have scratched for sure

hockey2315 11-05-2010 06:45 PM

Johnny V said to the ESPN guys before the race that she wasn't warming up right and something was wrong. This is B-A-D.

They interviewed Johnny V when she was warming up. He wasn't comfortable with her at all. She shouldn't have ran

knickslions2 11-05-2010 06:46 PM

Had it all today. Can't wait until tomorrow

packerbacker7964 11-05-2010 06:46 PM

Pletcher said she should've been scratched. Had a bad warm up and not herself. JV was concerned enough he asked the Vets to check her out and ESPN was all over her not being herself. She burned alot of money at 3-1 is all I know.

Poor girl.. You could tell she was not feeling well... WTF?

Rileyoriley 11-05-2010 06:50 PM

Thats what it appeared to be to me too.. Her tummy was hurting her.

Princess Doreen 11-05-2010 06:52 PM

Pletcher said she may have had a bad reaction to Lasix or the lights were bothering her or a combo. They should have scratched her. People who placed a bet on her have a right to be angry.

A really screwed up day of racing.

cabvmd 11-05-2010 06:55 PM

colic or if they gave her milk shake or some other type of fluids to cause some type of imbalanece in her system

You could see that sthe was splinting her abdomen. there was a sharp line of demarcation all along her ventral body.

I have worked the gate asa vet for 25 years and all the jock had to say is look at me.. I saw it from far away

Rileyoriley 11-05-2010 06:55 PM

The trainer and the jockey should have jointly scratched her if they felt she wasn't 100% right. Nothing like putting the welfare of the horse first.

Quite a day for the Breeders Cup. Fights, DQ'S, and a unsound horse at 7/2 running in the finale. What next?

Let's not forget the gate crew loading the horses in the wrong gates.

What happened today IS NOT going to bring in new fans.

slotdirt 11-05-2010 07:20 PM

Definitely a tough situation for JV. I thought he handled it as well as possible, though it was quite clear the horse shouldn't have won.

EDIT - shouldn't have RUN, not won.

brianwspencer 11-05-2010 07:33 PM

What a disgrace, pure and simple, in every way.

Between 10 other horses and riders potentially being put in danger, and hundreds of thousands of guaranteed losing tickets, this was beyond shameful.

I saw that too. Poor thing. Something didn't agree with her.

Don't forget the dimwits that loaded most of the juvy filly turf field in the wrong gates and they had to back them all out
