There ya go!!!!!!! Beat them Padres upside the head.Go Big Red.Do it again.Love the way Cameron was at 1st with 1 out in the 9th. Hard line drive, and Cameron is toast (between 1st,and 2nd.)DOUBLED UP.Game Over.Padres in pain.Let me say that again..PADRES IN PAIN!!!!

What a total collapse!!

Last Friday, they were tied with St. Louis and a game and a half ahead in the Wild Card. As of today, they are 6 back in the NL Central and 2 and a half back in the Wild Card. This is worse than the Red Sox fade. It looks like Gander was right, Houston will probably finish ahead of them in the Central. They play San Fran today, I can't believe they didn't have a day off after that 10 game road trip, they'll be flat today and Bonds will hit two HR's...:(

It really is too bad.The Dodgers badly wanted the Reds in the Playoffs.I expected Cincy to fall like a good sinkerball, but this is a little earlier than expected.I guess you're back in THE SMALL AMERICAN BALL PARK? So start a tear.

Astros suffering from the same problem that has plagued them for years. No offense. Inability to score runs to support one of the best starting rotations in baseball can be really frustrating. 4 1/2 back in the wildcard, 7 back in the division, stick a fork in em.

Its all the Dodgers.

Problem is that the Dodgers:

1)Play poorly on the road.

2)They finish on the road against the team that would love to knock them out of it(Giants.)

3)They have to play the Mets(on the road) 4 times this week.

4)They still play the Padres 4 times(atleast those are at home, but they have not stood up to this team like they need to do.)

I think the Padres may win the division, and the Dodgers may get the Wildcard. The Dodgers are no sure thing (at all) to make the post. They have struggled severely to score in other people's yard. They have struggled against the 3 other teams in the league with decent records(St. Louis,Mets, and San Diego.)They play good teams 8 times in the next 2 weeks.I hope it doesn't result in massive wounds. They need to step it up against the good teams. They can beat Cincy,Colorado,Arizona, and even the Giants, but so far not the Padres or the Mets. They need to do this.

I was close, Bonds hit a 2 run homer and they lost...

Wouldn't surprise me.Fact is that the World Series winners commonly have one important thing going on.They have young players beating established veterans in the World Series. The 2003 Marlins beat the Yanks' veterans. The 2002 Halos would never have won that World Series without young KROD blowing people away(Lackey as well.)The White sox had young Janks(Jenks?)
on the mound to shut the door. The Boston, and Arizona champions were not as reliant on it,and both came whiskas away from defeat.

Marlins are the first team ever to come from 20 games under .500 to reach a .500 or better record. Willis is starting to get it together. Unbelieveably fun team to watch.

Speaking of the Reds...

Has anyone heard anything on Griffey Jr? My hubby said that he heard about him dislocating something, but I didn't see anything on it this morning when I looked quickly.

Your husband is correct Buffy, he's out tonight, I just heard on the radio that they want the swelling to go down before they decide on what to do with it, looks like he might be about a week or so, hopefully it's nothing and he comes back earlier. You must have him on your fantasy team?

Buffymommy 09-06-2006 08:19 AM

Glad I benched him yesterday. Read this morning Griff Jr. is out indefinately with a dislocated toe. A TOE? Come on ya whimp! Just kidding.

Put Brian Giles in for him. Haven't checked to see how he did for me, but at least he is a great back up. :)
