To College football bettors...

If you want to make some money this Saturday, bet Notre Dame heavy. They are giving up 7.5 points, but should easyily win by 17 or more. I'm being serious, this is the best tip I can give you. I don't care if you don't like ND, bet them and you will make money.

Funny you should say that. I don't bet sports but I was talking to a friend who attended ND this past week and hes into the whole alumni thing. Says that word is that Weis has had the whip cracking all year long and that hes added a zillion offensive plays that to the mix. Last year he didnt have quite enough time to do that. He said the same thing as you, that they would crush GT in the opening game.

Scav 08-30-2006 07:23 PM

SHUUUUSH, please be quiet. I love this game also and right now Pinnacle has it at -6.5, they should destory Tech, DESTORY, but that being said, this is three people that want to put a mortgage on it so it can't be good

ddthetide 08-30-2006 08:30 PM

the domers are in the cool-aid already. take GT and the points at home. golden dome junior college still can't enough play defense.

keep your eye on the line of the Northern Illinois OSU game this Saturday. OSU is not big on high scoring games and Northern Illinois has a weapon or two on offense that could make this interesting with all the guys who left on defense last year for OSU. Last I checked the line was 19, and I would say that OSU would have a hard time possibly winning by that margin cause Coach Tressel is not one who coaches for blowouts but rather winning on defense.

Bingo. There D-in Nd might need to be lower case. The people who set these numbers are not stupid. ND may have a great offense, but I got big questions about there defense. Georgia Tech beat 3 teams that finished in the top 20 last year. ND beat zero... Sounds good, but I pass on this one.

Northern Illinois is getting alot of pub up here in Chicago, a little less then Notre Dame. Biggest score ever on a football game was when SIU(Division 1AA Football/Division 1 Basketball) went to Northern Illinois two years ago. Found a site that was taking action and I emptied my checking/saving account on the game, SIU was +21. I bet 20% of my wager on the money line and 80% plus the points. They scored a TD with like 30 seconds on the clock and elected to go FOR THE WIN with a 2 pointer and failed. It was the easiest cash I ever made my life

Furthermore on to this, the key to successful COLLEGE wagering is this.

Find 5 teams that you want to follow, preferably is 'lesser' conferences, and just know them. I knew SIU football (Division 1AA so very rarely get a line on the game) was the ish and Northern was sub par, plus a HUGE SIU contingent went to that game.

It is like in College Basketball, I know the VALLEY better then Vegas does and I am LETHAL with them. LETHAL, especially SIU games.

don't listen to the haters...

Nd's defense may not be that solid, but there Offense is for real and will put up huge points. ND's defense plays bend but don't break, and look for a score of:

ND= 38
GT= 21

BOOK IT!

Pgard I don't think you get it. Weis is a true offensive genius. Last year he was hired kind of late and had to dive in and try and get recruiting done, run spring practice, and had to implement offensive plays each week through the season because of the complexity of what he does. This year, with the kids having been given the plays to study and learn months ago, and teh experience Quinn has in his system now, you are gonna be watching an offensive show that will be dazzling. Noone is arguing that the ND defense has holes in it. But you have to understand, opposing teams will be trying to cover and hold back offensive schemes and patterns that they have never seen in their lives, not in high school or college.
I think you underestimate what kind of Coach Weis is. You are talking about the guy who made Tom Brady and won 3 rings with small market team in the NFL. His schemes and breakdown of other teams videotape are legendary. Expect a lot of worn out to hell db's in the second half of ND games this year.

Who does not get it? 14 points. A dazzling offensive show... What YOU did not take into account is that Georgia Tech is a good team that has a good defense. Notre Dame got close to USC last year and that made them look like world beaters. USC defense was pitiful and was exposed time and time again.

I told you guys to pass on this game. The guys from Vegas were very close again. They know these teams.

The big mistake for all the ND fans is their hearts. This is not a game you bet with your heart. Just like horses. That being said, ND just won a very tough game. Much tougher than most of the top 20 teams. And a win is a win. Just watch the point spread stuff. Very tough business.

You have got to look more closely at the OPPONENT. Please keep posting though. 1st games are very tough. Maybe we will all get better once we get a few games under the belt.

Coach Pants 09-02-2006 11:59 PM

I had a few parlays riding on ND -6.5

What could've been a great day turned into an OK day thanks to the most overrated team in the country. I look for USC to demolish these pretenders.

SCUDSBROTHER 09-03-2006 01:15 AM

Another hilarious N.D. thread.

IrishofNDMan 09-03-2006 08:52 AM

I underestimated Ga Tech, they are a very good defensive football team. Notre Dame will continue to improve and this was a good win for them.

GO IRISH!!!!!
