This is why the SEC is the best league in the country. So many minefield games and very few punching bags. There's good teams in say the Pac 10 but there's also nights off like Wazzu. Alabama can and still deserves a shot at the NC if they win out. Side note, how about Mich St? Anybody see this coming?

Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Kentucky, would rarely if ever finish top 5 in the Big 10 Pac 10, big 12 in any year. Those are pretty much nights off. SEC is the the best conference without question I agree, but there are and always have been doormats in the conference. What makes it best is that their top 7 are always better than any other conference's top 7. Which is I guess what you were saying...so yeah, you're right!
