World's Greatest Thoroughbred Race?

Reading a British book which terms the Epsom Derby as the 'World's Greatest Flat Race'. With the Arc Sunday, it made me curious what people consider the greatest of the great flat races internationally? You can vote multiple times, so maybe tab your top 3.

I just finished "Not by a Long shot" and am looking for a new read... What are you reading?

It's kind of difficult for an average race fan living in the US to realize the history and magnitude of the races in another country. I voted Ky Derby sinply on tradition and the fact that every American trainer's / owner's / jockey's dream is to win it

Same reason I would vote for it.

Kentucky Derby.............

and a long way back in 2nd, the Arc.

I've thought that long before I went to my first Derby, or moved here.

Are you employed by Yum! Brands?

cmorioles 10-01-2010 10:14 PM

Those that selected the Arlington Million should be banned immediately...maybe even the guy that put it on the list!

blackthroatedwind 10-01-2010 10:16 PM

I wanted to write in the obvious choice......the last leg of any Pick-6 you hit.

The ultimate would be to stay there and travel the country and finish the trip by attending both finals of the Australian Open.
